“Some Good, Some Not”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

We requested adjoining rooms, one with a king bed. When we arrived we were given rooms on the 'pet friendly' side, no adjoining, no king bed! The room next door had a small 'barking' dog and we asked to be moved. The manager nicely accommodated us and moved us to the 'not so pet friendly' side with carpet, not cement floors. Also had the balcony. VERY good of him to do. The room itself appeared clean and definitely renovated. Great pool and loved the fire-pit in the evenings. Left the maids tips but our last day we got only 1 towel. When we called and asked for some, we were given 4 hand towels and 2 bath mats - Wow! There appear to be some 'issues', first with laundry, then with language and understanding at the front desk; otherwise, we did enjoy our stay. At first look the outside does not appear to be more than a 1 star hotel...inside is better:). Keep improving..........:).

Room Tip: IF you have no pets, ask for the rooms with balconies (and carpet):). oh, and face the pool!

Relaxing by the pool and our fire pit are perfect ways to spend down time on your Provincetown trip! We’re pleased to discover that you enjoyed your accommodations and balcony, although we regret the mix up with your first room. Improving is very important to us, and we’ll be sure to share your comments with our housekeeping and concierge departments to help us grow. We hope that you’ll visit the Harbor Hotel Provincetown again and have an even better experience! Thank you for your review.

Sincerely,

Great staff made the stay a very good one. The pool is a big plus. Entertainment in the lounge too. People seemed drawn to the roadside firepit. The staff is attentive and hard working from the front desk, to the wait service, to maintenance. Keith is gracious bartender. The breakfast was a buffet and better than one from a menu that I had in PTown...say "yes" to rolled blueberry pancakes. Wasn't expecting much from the room so not disappointed. It was clean and the housekeepers worked to change the sheets, towels, made sure the bathroom was clean. The location outside of town was actually a plus, Walk, bike, take the bus or drive into town as your schedule permits. If you know that the rooms are what they are and you are fine with that then plan a visit. I stayed during the height of the season and all was fine. It is up to you to decide if Harbor Hotel is acceptable for your needs.

Providing great service is our top priority and hearing what an impact our staff made on your stay made our day! Your compliments for our staff are greatly appreciated and we’re thrilled to learn that everyone was kind and hospitable on your stay. The blueberry pancake rolls are indeed a wonderful treat and we’re glad that our breakfast buffet added to your experience. We invite you to return on your next trip to Provincetown.

Located about 30 mins walk from town but enjoyed being out of the centre a little. Good bus service every half hour until midnight for $2.
Room was $199 plus tax and rollaway bed extra $25 which adds up to a lot. Very basic room with small bath shower. Not that clean with hairs left around. Staff mixed but Keith at the pool was the best and couldn't do enough. Very happy character. Pool good and big but not heated so a bit cold. Breakfast was nice at 4.95 continental. Overall a 3 star old style hotel worth less money but it's an expensive town to stay as the season is short.

Your perspective on your recent stay at the Harbor Hotel Provincetown is greatly appreciated. It’s great that the service you received at our Cabana Bar was exceptional. In addition to our breakfast buffet being a great value, we have discounted rates and packages available on our website, and we hope you’ll take advantage of one the next time you visit Provincetown. For future visits, we suggest taking advantage of one of our suites; they’re much larger and offer more of the amenities that you may be looking for.

We were checked-in next door where we were obligated to stay for the first night - dumpy! Robert at the front desk at Harbor Hotel was wonderful, booked us for our last two nights and was very professional, courteous, and helpful throughout our entire stay....Thanks Robert!!
We really enjoyed PTown once our luggage arrived...and the hotel was clean and comfortable - pool was a little too cold - brrr!

This hotel has great views of the ocean. Fire pit very relaxing. Hit or miss with the staff. Keith at the cabana bar wonderful. Robert who checked us in seemed pre occupied with whatever was happening with the police and the other agent standing next to us rather than just checking us in and providing that great 1st impression. Bed is comfy- no mattress pads very odd. Floors in guest room seemed dirty but were clean. Maybe add a washable area rug to warm up the room a bit... It was a holiday inn and you can tell it was. The retro vibe is cool but needs to be kept up. Rust on conduit inside the guest room is an easy fix with some paint at least... Bathroom vanity was updated in a nice way the actual shower toilet not touched since it was a Holiday Inn....
Nice in room coffee maker and television.

For PTown it's a pretty decent choice. A nice walk to town as long as it's not too hot

Thank you for your input on your recent stay at the Harbor Hotel Provincetown. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed unwinding at the end of the day by our fire pits before retiring in one of our comfortable beds. The flooring in our guest rooms is eco-friendly, which is why there is a variation in color. We’ve shared your photos with our maintenance team so they can address one of the issues you’ve mentioned, and we’ll be sure to go over your review with our check-in staff as well. It would be a pleasure to serve you again on a future visit.

They are doing the best they can and for this they get B+. It's just a really substandard operation. The renovations are 'c' grade as is cleanliness, organization, training, professionalism, hospitality etc..but my gosh you can tell they are giving their all
