Went on a girls only weekend.Needed to go somewhere close to home because we didnt have alot of time to spend traveling.Provincetown Inn has been there for years and we knew it would be old, however, the Continental breakfast they included had nats all over it so we were unable to eat it.A few made their way into our rooms also. The woman at the front desk was less then friendly. When we asked her for any menus to local resturants her answer was,"I have one and its old.I have a take out menu but the foods not to good."They really need to get someone at the desk that may care a little bit about the place. Found many other places as we drove around to stay at next time. Most everything at this Inn was closed for the season.Pub open for 2 nights,no food or even snacks. If they put a little money and time in this it could be a beautiful resort because of its location. But face it...its ship has sailed!

Very lovely location...right on the ocean...but the property is very very outdated, In dire need of some renovations..We stayed in a family suite (which wasnt cheap -even in the off season) which backed right up to the ocean which wouldve been nice except , our 'private deck', which consisted of only a roped off area - left folks doing sightseeing right there at our back doorstep...

Anyhow, very shabby for the price, bed was large, comfy, but bathroom was ridicuously small, cant imagine how anyone over 120 lbs would fit on the commode. Full kitchen was decent. Overall the Inn was quite run down. Will say one positive was we left an expensive item behind in error and they contacted us to get it returned to us - very honest of them. Wouldnt need to return though.

Over many years of visiting the States we have had a variety of hotels from excellent to OK, but this hotel was the worst we have ever stayed at.

The rooms smelt - principally of stale urine, even after keeping the windows open all day and night. They were also in desperate need of redecoration, particularly the rather small bathrooms. The overall hotel was also shabby, with an uncared for look.

From what we could see, people were voting with their feet and the hotel was half empty in the summer season. Unfortunately we had made the mistake of paying in advance otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. It's a shame as the location is absolutely superb, and a well run, clean and updated hotel - as against modern hotel - would be a goldmine for both the owner and the tourists looking for somewhere special.

Stayed at the Inn Aug 28-31st 2007. OK.. The hotel shows it's age. The public rooms do have a musty odor, there are no elevators, the carpet is worn a bit. BUT
we found our room to be clean and comfortable with a fantasic view of the cape overlooking the pool (out over roof top-no big deal)Do keep in mind the hotel is a walk to town, but you will pass beautiful landscaped properties on the way. Each and every staff member we came in contact with was very kind and helpful. The free continental breakfast was a plus and all it should have been. If you are traveling with another companion be sure to ask for rooms near one another as the Inn is a sprawling complex! Overall I recommend the property, just know the Inn is old and in need of a few updates.

Having spent several days on outer cape every August, we have sampled a number of casual, waterfront lodgings & this was not only the worst, it is the only one to which we will never consider returning to. On the positive, and what attracted us, was the location, at the tip of the cape, a mile from most of Ptown's main attractions, surronded by the bay...our deck was very nice. But that was all that was nice, the room smelled, stale, like b.o. The place is in desperate need of upgrading, from the peeling & in some cases crumbling plaster walls, to the dank, dark stained carpets throughout, to the sagging, peeling roof & outer appearance. The room had no coffee pot, hair dryer or any of the barest of amenities. We received two threadbare bath towels, & housekeeping did not properly close our door after cleaning, leaving our room open to all. The sheets were scratchy, with an odd odor and did not get changed, when room was made. The bathroom was so tiny, one couldn't unroll the toilet paper without standing up. There was one ice machine for 3 wings, so was a hike. The staff was less than friendly to outright rude. We had planned on staying 3 nights, left after two. Our originally booked room was changed to a different side - though that turned out okay as was warmer and more sheltered. The "restaurant" is bare bones as well, and the outdoor pool was cold. With a little money put back into the place it could be nice....but they were painting the roof instead of replacing it, and it appears to be undergoing ever-increasing neglect. To boot this was the most expensive choice we've made...you certainly don't "get what you pay for" here! There are so many Great places to stay in Ptown and outer cape beach motels that are simple but CLEAN, stay away from this one!

July 2007 $200 a night non ocean view (not worth $50 a night). Old, smelly and out of date. It is a great location but they charge way too much money period. I guess we could have enjoyed the room much more if you could go out on a deck and get fresh air instead of smelly air in the room. The air conditioner was broken - did not fix it until midnight - they did not offer us anything for this (bad guest services) they say they are on a sensor so when you go out of the room it goes off. You come back to a hot smelly room. Our bathroom was nasty - the toilet was crooked - it had a tiny mini sink and the tub did not drain. The hallways are not air conditioned so it is just hot - oh and there is no elevator so if your on the second floor be prepared to haul everything up stairs - really fun when its hot. I would not recommend this or go back.
