“Great Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014

Great hotel. Right on the ocean. Large pool. Wonderful breakfast included in room price. Hot and cold foods, cereals, fruit, waffles, juices, bagels, toast, yogurts. Rooms, clean and walking distance to Commercial St., bars, shows, food. Free parking. Had a minor housekeeping issue when we went to bed but it was corrected the next day and we received a room credit due to it.

Room Tip: Since there is no elevator if you have issues with stairs request a first floor room.

We have stayed at the Provincetown Inn before but this was the first time in a Breakwater side room. The room has 2 queen size beds and a nice view of the Breakwater. The check in was a breeze and we were in our room 10 minutes after we arrived. The Inn has a big pool with grill and bar that's open until 5pm. Try the Pilgrim Punch at the pool you won't be disappointed. There is a shuttle bus that you can take into town or to the beaches for $2. Its a good place to stay we'll be back next year.

Room Tip: Try a room in the Breakwater \Harborside\Cape Tip

Overall, I love this hotel. It has just the right amount of charm to make it part of the quirky quaint town. I have stayed there twice and I love it. It's quiet and open. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is key for this beach lover. It's is at the end of commercial street and right on the breakwater. It is about a15-20 minute walk into the heart of Provincetown and 15 minute drive to herring cove and race point beaches.

We had a family wedding at the Provincetown Inn this August (2014) and it was a perfect and amazing experience. Planning with Eric Anderson with was a pleasure. Eric says he tends to “undersell and outperform” and that’s absolutely true. What he promises he delivers (and then some!) He keeps all the details straight and does so with a calm that is contagious.

The Inn is a rambling hotel with a relaxed feeling. It isn’t fancy but truly charming and the views are breathtaking at every time of day, whether it is the sunrise over the harbor or the marsh and mile-long jetty at high tide. There are plenty of places to gather in smaller groups inside the hotel as well as options for larger gatherings. One of the best things about having a wedding at the Inn is its size. All the guests could stay at the Inn and that meant that we could have an evening meet and greet the day before the wedding as well as a late night gathering after the wedding. It was more like a weekend long wedding. The wonderful continental breakfast included with room meant that there was an additional opportunity for wedding guests to be together. The breakfast is much more than the usual continental breakfast too. There are lots of options and the food was always replenished right away.

The wedding reception appetizers and buffet choices were all terrific. The food was fresh, hot and prepared well. Ours was a tent wedding and the setup under the tent was beautiful. There was ample room to wander between tables and the dance floor was large. It was wonderful to go from the lawn (with the spectacular view of Provincetown Harbor) right to the tent for the reception.

I can’t say enough good things about the staff at the Provincetown Inn. Eric, the manger, is a wonderful manager in his easygoing style. Tamesa, the Food and Beverage Manager was so helpful and attended to every detail. We knew she was watching everything during the reception and that we had nothing to worry about. Anekia, Kimmey and so many others were terrific as well. Just one example might help to explain why this review is so very positive. There was an antique fork that we brought for the bride and groom’s cake tasting. It was placed on the cake table at well before the setup under the tent happened and one of the staff moved it, thinking that it didn’t belong. As soon as it was mentioned to the staff, they went through every piece of silverware and found it. Again, at the end of the night, we forgot to take the fork and it was put in with all the other silverware to be washed. As soon as it was mentioned (again!), the staff went through every piece of silverware and returned it to us. It was this kind of kindness and dedication that impressed all of us.

I want to mention Andrew Morgan who was in charge of the raw bar. The raw bar was taken care of by Native Cape Cod Shellfish (Native Cape Cod Seafood at the aquarium mall in the center of town). Andrew is the owner and it was the freshest raw bar I ever tasted. Andrew takes great care in the presentation of as well as growing and cultivation of his shellfish. He never stopped shucking the oysters and clams because they were so in demand! The shrimp were also delicious. In addition, he is just a great guy!

So many of the wedding guests mentioned how helpful the staff were and we had the same experience. They went out of their way to make the day as carefree as possible. We can’t thank them enough!

So there it is, an incredibly beautiful setting large enough to accommodate all the wedding guests, a fun pool experience, a lovely beach, great food and a staff that were determined to make our family wedding a most memorable and enjoyable day. It didn’t hurt, of course, that the weather was A+. But even if that hadn’t been the case, we know that we couldn’t have picked a better place for a wedding. The Provincetown Inn (with Eric’s competent management) made our dreams come true. We wish we could rewind and do it all over again!

Room Tip: Nearly all the rooms face Provincetown harbor or the marsh and jetty. We had a harbor view room and...

This hotel was perfect for our 3 day weekend on the Cape. The location is beautiful, and the view from our room was stunning. The rooms aren't anything fancy, but they are clean and comfortable. Our patio had a great view of the water, and was a perfect place to kick back and relax. The breakfast was a really nice perk too! The staff was very pleasant as well. The location is great, because you're within walking distance to everything, but far enough removed that you can enjoy some peace and quite if you so desire. We'll definitely be back, again and again!

A friend and I stayed here July 31-Aug 2, 2014. It reminded us of a haunted house or something! The staff were very nice. There are no elevators so be prepared to lug your luggage. Our room was adequate (with a little fridge) but certainly no view; just of the lower roof top. Definitely dated. The pool area was very crowded with tons of kids throwing each other into the pool; mind you it was Family Week. But they do have a grill/bar area & music. We didn't last longer than an hour there before heading over to the neighboring beach. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that it IS a bit of a walk into town. Maybe 20/25 min. If you have kids, bear in mind this fact. They have a very good breakfast set up each day. Serve yourself coffee/tea; bagels/bread etc to self-toast, cereal, fruit salad, do it yourself waffles, juices etc. One morning when we were having breakfast, there were a couple of police officers keeping watch over a bunch of inmates having breakfast. Interesting. Helpful to have a vehicle if you're wanting to go to a bigger, quieter beach for the afternoon. No point to drive into town as you'll never find parking. But if you want to pick up groceries/liquor you do need to drive into town to Stop & Shop. We enjoyed our stay-certainly was interesting.

The room we stayed in had a 50's bathroom (I am old enough to remember ours) and has not been updated since. We were worried that the floor under the shower would give way when we stepped on the sagging floor of the shower stall. The furnishings were old and smelled of mildew. We had stayed downtown Provincetown at a bed and breakfast and chose this place for three nights as our seaside resort. The price is definitely not worth the accommodations. The staff were barely visible and did not offer to help me with carrying my luggage up the stairs even when I asked. They said they would try to find someone which might take a long time. Another guest helped me. I would never stay there again and would not recommend it for anything except the view and beach which you could access without staying there.

Room Tip: I don't know where the good rooms are.
