We selected the Courtyard over another local hotel with spotty ratings thinking that Marriott offers pretty standard stuff. Ah ha, but standards change. The big surprise was that standard breakfast setup had been replaced by their new "bistro". Antennae immediately went up as bistro is often used when one is trying to impress with words, not necessarily results.

The room was fine and they have a strict noise policy, which was nice given that an all-night wedding celebration was in progress.

The surprise, though, was in the morning. Turns out the bistro is being run by Starbucks. Yeah, the same guys that have you waiting in line for 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee while the serve up hand-crafted latte, mocha, grandee calorie-fests to everybody else.

Don't get me wrong. It's a very pretty bistro with design elements that you'd like to take home. And has that soothing Starbucks feel. But whereas before breakfast was self-serve and maybe an omelet if you had a few more minutes, now it's all sit-down table service.

When you're at the airport and the Starbucks line is stretching gate-to-gate, you always have the option to find another coffee shop close by. But now they have you captive--to practice their we-make-you-wait skills until the cows come home.

We ordered two oatmeals and two orders of eggs. One oatmeal shows up in about five minutes. Ten minutes later they're giving someone else oatmeal. We inquired about their strange queuing model and that finally get our second oatmeal to show up. Then the eggs dribble in. We got to see Murray finish off Federer for the Gold but how often is that going to happen?

Oh, and did I mention that this all seemed like it cost about 50% more than before. (Or did it use to be free? I forget.) And there's no more pancakes and waffles. Too declasse. Just fancy French toast.

The staff tells me that the plan is to roll these slo-mo affairs out to the entire chain. Great.

So all I'm saying is don't schedule any morning meetings if you're going to be staying at a Courtyard in the future. And forget the pancakes or the thought of loading up your own oatmeal toppings. Just sit down and enjoy the bistro.

After reading the other reviews, I was a little nervous about staying here. But since I did not see complaints about the cleanliness, which is the most important aspect to me, and many other hotels were booked, we decided to give it a try. We had a room in the newly renovated wing, which was lovely. The lobby is very inviting, very modern. There is also a nice courtyard with an outdoor seating area. The staff was friendly, the room was very clean, not sure what else could have made it better! It is only about 20-25 minutes from Plymouth, and a fairly easy drive.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to serve you and are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Our outdoor seating area now features a wonderful and welcoming fire pit for you to enjoy a beer, glass of wine, or a cocktail from our Bistro with friends and family. We look forward to welcoming you back during your summer travels in 2013 and for years after.

Sincerely,
Katherine Masson

This was the worst hotel I stayed at in 2011. My room was by the road and they have the fan feature disabled on the A/C system. I had no background noise to drone out the near constant traffic. Then the room was so hot that I had to sleep with the window open in the winter with snow on the ground causing it to be even noisier. They have the A/C system set so no matter what setting you put it on it varies very little. I had maintenance come check it out and he said he couldn't do anything about it. I was supposed to be there 3 weeks, but I moved to the Courtyard in Foxboro after 3 days. The property is kind of dated, but there is a huge walmart across the street and plenty of nearby restaurants

Room Tip: Do not get a room near the main road!

Hardly an attractive setting (right on Rte. 44, next to a Walmart), but this was a clean, well run facility. We spent a quiet, comfortable night. Staff and room were just fine. No noisiness and the beds were very comfy.

We stopped, spur of the moment, on a road trip. The hotel was quite nice with clean rooms and comfortable beds. The pool was quite small but my kids enjoyed it. A bottle of water cost $3 which is a bit high and the room rate with taxes cost us approx $160. For me that is a bit expensive.

Stayed here with family for one night. The room was clean and quiet (and larger than expected) and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly. I would stay here again. The pool is small (about 20 ft by 20 ft square and 3 to 4 feet deep) but this appears to be a hotel geared toward business travelers so swimming may not be an interest of most people staying here. There is also a hot tub in the pool area. There are two exercise rooms - one room with two treadmills and the other room with an elliptical cycle and a weight machine. The hotel does not have a restaurant with table service but it does have a coffee/food counter with breakfast items and sandwiches and salads. The hotel is next to a Walmart and there are numerous restaurants just a short drive down Route 44. The ventilation system in the room (heating/cooling) is a window unit with buttons to select high/low fan speed and a dial to make the temperature warmer or cooler.

Stayed at this hotel recently while travelling on business. Everything about it was about average. Recent remodel of the lobby. Very hip and modern. Service was friendly and courteous. Front desk associate was helpful in suggesting dinner locations.

Room was OK. Not a fan of the layout with the bed against the bathroom wall. Bed was a little too soft and pillows were useless. Had to turn head sideways to watch TV. Bathroom was tiny and bland. Sink area was actually outside the bathroom. Some mold on the celiing in the shower.

Didn't use the pool or excercise facilities. However, had a chuckle when I saw the pool. It was literally 10x10. I've seen larger kiddie pools.

Breakfast was decent, but a little pricey ($12 with juice).

LIke I said earlier, this is a decent hotel, with decent ammenities. Sufficient for a one night business stay.
