You won't be disappointed by this inn.I rented the 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage. The space was great and each room had a view. The bathrooms were small but adequate. I had plenty of room for my family to visit and sleep over. The location was perfect. We woke up to the sound of the tides at Back Beach or you could walk to Front Beach(a sandy beach) about a 3 minute walk. We could walk to Bear Skin Neck and enjoyed many wonderful meals there. The kitchen in the cottage was well equipped so you could easily cook a meal and enjoy outside dining on your own deck. The most fabulous moment for me was sitting on my deck with my daughter sipping wine, in our pj's , and listening to the free concert that was at the bandstand(across the street), with the sights and sounds of the ocean as a backdrop. "Life is Good" at the Beach Knoll Inn
The innkeepers and staff were great and so helpful. Hope to make this a tradition.

Directly across from cove beach. Friendly, informative, accomodating, but not overbearing innkeepers. True to the description on the Inn's website. Walking distance to most of what Rockport has to offer, easy drive to other attractions, in Gloucester as well. Stayed 3 nights. If I knew next year's schedule, I would have reserved in a moment for a return trip. Still might.

Rockport, MA, is one of the USA's most beautiful locations with pristine natural resources, a quaint in-town, an artist's mecca, and peace and beauty all around. To crystallize your experience there, stay at the Beach Knoll Inn. This year will be my 25th at the Inn. It is a lovely, comfortable getway situated across from one of Rockport's small beaches. The view outside most all windows is of the ocean and Rockport Harbor, often hosting sailboats and yachts on the weekends. The rocky shores for which Rockport is famous are nearby and ready for hiking and exploring. Each room of the Beach Knoll is charmingly appointed with maritime-themed linens, art and colors. Rooms are immaculate and staff are happy to help with any housekeeping issues which may arise. The beds, generally queen size, come from one of the most prominent bed-makers in New England and provide the utmost comfort (it's the best sleep I have all year!) . Refrigerators are available in each room, and some rooms have sinks and modest cooking facilities. Terry and Diane Golden, the proprietors, are welcoming, friendly and available to answer your questions or help you with whatever you need. Parking is on premises and the Beach Knoll is within walking distance to Bear Skin Neck (the historical intown area), beaches, shops, hiking, groceries, and train station which passes through Salem Ma. and terminates in Boston. The Beach Knoll is quiet and peaceful, as are its visitors, which provides a perfect respite for a busy life. A stay at the Beach Knoll will make your stay in Rockport the ultimate getaway.

This is my favorite place on Cape Ann. Set between two beaches, walking distance from shops and restaurants. And the owners, the Golden's, will pick you up at train and assist you anyway they can. I loved sitting and watching the sunset over the ocean every evening. Can't wait to go back.

I have stayed at the Beach Knoll Inn for the past 8 years on Vacatiion. The Beach Knoll Inn is very comfortable with great view of the Ocean and Beach. It is close to the center of town, shops and resterants. It is reletively inexpensive compared to other Inns/Hotels in town.
I would highly suggest the Beach Knoll Inn.

I stayed in a room on the first floor with a partial water view. When the window blinds were open I could see the water from bed - what a great way to wake up!

I didn't expect a historic inn to have such great in-room amenities. My room had a nice TV, small refrigerator, a stove ,coffeemaker (coffee and creamers provided), dishes and silverware. Wireless internet was also included. The room was very clean, nicely decorated and extremely comfortable. The owners were very friendly and I greatly enjoyed the places they recommended for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The location of the inn was perfect - it was a 5 minute walk along the water to the "downtown" shops and restaurants. The end of the beach across the street was used by SCUBA divers (too bad I didn't bring my gear this trip!). The owners also gave me directions to Halibut Point State Park (10 minutes away), which was beautiful for walking, hiking and running.

I definitely look forward to my next visit!

The innkeepers were extrememly friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and maintained the New England beachtown charm. The flowers on the grounds were beautiful! Walking to town was a short distance and even the kids didn't mind the trek a few times a day... The clam chowder at Nate's at Front Beach was scrumptious as well
For a short trip there is no need to leave town, but if in the area for a while - we visited Hammond Castle in Gloucester and would recommed that as well. Enjoy!
