“Art Colony and More”

I stumbled into this gallery while my nephew and his friend were sightseeing in the local shops. What a great introduction into local artists of the community. This yellow building is deceiving and it houses far more art than one might have guessed. All the history and the beautiful surroundings of Cape Ann and New England are included in many of the works here.

There are so many wonderful galleries and shops in Rockport along with the usual somewhat touristy trinket shops. Overall it's a quaint village and RAA is a must see if you are in Rockport. Don't miss the used bookstore on main street either. The art here in Rockport is stunning. There is no other way to describe it. I just wish I had places to display all the art I would love to buy. However, the prices are so reasonable here, that you may end up with a purchase being shipped home. Don't say I didn't warn you.

“Art for art's sake”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2013

A visit to the gallery should be a must for anyone who enjoys art and plans to spend a few hours strolling along the shops of Rockport. Just the right amount of haute but you feel welcome and appreciated for stopping by. Worth a stop

Here you can visit lots of local artists and spend time talking with them. It is a lovely area and there is tons to do and see. You can purchase items here and the prices vary quite a bit.

“Art and More Art - You can spend a bit of time here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2012

This is an opportunity to see a lot of local artists and see some great scenes of New England as well as elsewhere. The building is larger than it looks- there is artwork on the first floor and second floor. The second floor contains one room with artwork for purchase - some framed some just matted. Prices are realistic. On the first floor, you can go out the backdoor -across a small yard -into another room of art. Some of the show-cased art is also for sale.
You can definitely spend some time here.
No charge but they do have a nice box for donations.
