Sally Webster Inn
Ranked #7 of 24 Rockport B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 30 September 2013

PROS:
~More reasonably priced than many Rockport accommodations.
~Ample free parking at the back of the inn.
~Nice looking property and grounds.
~Readily available tea and Keurig coffee in the breakfast room.
~Complimentary bottled water in room.
~Hair dryer, electric fireplace and nice toiletries in room.
~7 minute walk to the town center.
~Breakfast buffet included egg, sausage, juice, coffee, breads. It was OK. You are seated with other guests, which can make for a pleasant morning chat.
~Sunny deck/patio off the back for relaxing with a coffee and a book. They even have a cat on property!
~Non-smoking rooms.
~Many tourist pamphlets/brochures in the lobby to help plan your stay.

CONS:
~A little too 'kitschy' and cluttered for my liking.
~Cleanliness could be improved.
~Stain on the 'clean' fitted sheet when we arrived.
~No iron in room.
~Service/hospitality was not quite as personable as some we had experienced on our tour of New England.
~Room needed a full length mirror.
~The room we paid for (Prentiss) was quite small but adequate for the night. If you like your space however, I would recommend a different room.
~The shower was small like one on a cruise ship and the floor was a little slippery with no grab bar/handle.
~Floors were kinda creeky! (Read: noisy)
~Small TV in room. (18"?)
~The hands on the clock in our room were stopped at '1:50' permanently.
~No elevator, although the owner helped us upstairs with our cases. If you aren't very good with stairs, it might be an issue.
~They prefer cash or check, but will accept credit cards.

Rockport seemed very expensive for accommodations. I think if I went there again, I'd stay more towards Gloucester and drive to Rockport. Overall, the Sally Webster Inn was pleasant, but it seemed like it could do with a little TLC and a decluttering!

back again at our favourite B&B......Great welcome from Suzan and Dean , the innkeepers.
This is a home away from home.
Accommodations first class and breakfast is good , healthy and tasty. The Inn was built in 1832
and has all the charm of yesteryear. Well worth the visit to Rockport, Mass. USA

We stayed at the Sally Webster Inn for three nights in August, 2013. It is an authentic old colonial in the historic district of town, beautifully landscaped, furnished and very clean! Each room has a private bathroom, flat screen TV, and a very comfortable queen bed with coverlets and quilts. The innkeepers are a lovely friendly couple full of knowledge and suggestions for local activities, sites and restaurants.Breakfast is included and offers a variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins and baked specialties. There is a lovely garden area for relaxing and coffee, tea and ice are always available. They have many repeat visitors which speaks well for their hospitality!

Room Tip: There is a lovely first floor room if you would prefer no stairs.

My family and I stayed here this past July (2013). It was the perfect location, walking distance to the beach and shops. It was very clean, cozy and charming. Their breakfast was great! The couple who owns it was very nice and helpful. We felt right at home. They offer different styles of rooms which was great for us! We were there to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. On the first night we came back with 1/2 a dozen large cupcakes (we forgot plates, silverware and napkins lol) it was around 8pm at night and the owners offered us everything we needed to enjoy our birthday dessert! We sat outside on the patio with the option of using their candles, tables and whatever else we needed to enjoy the night. We will absolutely stay again. Plenty of parking, beautifully kept grounds too.

We have stayed in Sally Webster Inn for several nights. It was wonderful. The rooms are very nit and clean. The location is great - very close to the beach and to the restaurant/shopping area. The owners are very friendly and helpful and at the same time you feel a lot of freedom. I am sure we will go there again.

My husband, daughter and I spent 4 nights at the Sally Webster Inn in July. We had plenty of space for 3 in Rhoda's Room, plus a generous bathroom. Breakfast was just great - something home-cooked every morning. We ate on the patio one morning, and also used the 2 garden spaces and 2nd floor deck for relaxing at "home." Suzan and Dean anticipated our every need and helped us plan our days sightseeing. We were in walking distance of 3 Rockport beaches and many delicious restaurants. I hope we can return someday soon.

The Sally Webster Inn proves to be one of the best B & B experiences ever. My room was a cozy attic room named "The William." It was private, comfortable, and safe and provided just the respite I needed to relax. Everything is absolutely immaculate, with plenty of full, thick, fresh cotton towels and washcloths and soft cotton sheets and pillowcases. For those who have chemical sensitivities, it was a huge relief to find that this Inn is so considerate as to be extremely careful about the detergents and products they use. The place feels very healthy. The bed was very comfortable and afforded a good night's sleep. Though I wasn't able to stay for breakfast whatever was cooking in the kitchen smelled incredibly good. I will gladly stay at this place again. And, as an added bonus for aelurophiles, a big, beautiful black cat named Woodstock comes out to greet you upon your arrival. He may even escort you to the parking lot, too. This place is a real find.

Room Tip: My room as a third floor attic, so WiFi reception wasn't the best. But then again, it is not unu...
