“Food is NOT good!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2013

I live in Rockport and unfortunately this area does not offer many options as far as Asian cuisine. I have basically been limited to Hong Kong Kitchen and a few others in Gloucester. Hong Kong Kitchen is by far the worst. some of their appetizers are ok but a vast majority leave a lot to be desired. Their fried rice is simply God awful...over cooked slop with no discernable flavor. After several poor meals I am done going there. Word of warning: Eating in the restaurant itself in the winter months is extremely unpleasant...they do not have any heat.

“Fast and Yummy Chinese Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2012

Hong Kong Kitchen is my favorite place in Cape Ann to get take-out Chinese food. They're not too far from my house, and they share a nice parking lot so you don't have to struggle to find street parking in the busy summer months. The menu has a lot of choices. I almost always share one of the lunch or dinner specials with my partner. I love their fried rice. It's definitely the best tasting fried rice in the area. You can order just fried rice and get it with pineapple and shrimp. I usually have it in one of their specials but I've seen it when others have ordered just the rice and you get a huge amount (even a small is what I would consider larger). There are tables but I don't see many people eating in the restaurant as it's more a take-out place. Prices are great, and as I said before, you get a lot of good food for the amount you pay.

“Better than most big city Chinese places!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2012

Like so much in Rockport, Hong Kong Kitchen is a little quirky!! For example, the standard egg roll appetizer is actually two delicious egg rolls and boiled white rice does not automatically come with your order instead you receive a dinner roll. So if you want white rice you must order it separately. The food here is excellent, always fresh, one entree will easily feed two people and often there are still leftovers--a great value! A few years back the menu was modified but they will still make items from the old menu if you ask so these folks are really out to please. We love the Hunan Pork(old menu) and on the new menu the Thai Chili Jumbo Shrimp and Vegetable Fried Rice are SUPERB!!!!
