Wish I could give this 3.5 stars. They are between 3 and 4 stars. This is a perfectly decent campground just a few miles from either Hampton Beach or Salisbury Beach. The pool is very nice and clean. There is no bingo or other organized activities but there is a playground, mini-golf (small and not in great shape but fun for a $1), ping-pong and air hockey. The bathrooms are OK and yes, it's 25 cents for a short shower but for a camping shower, it's fine! We spend most of our days at the beach when we come down and this is a great place to unwind in the evening. We've been there three times now and definitely would return. Have we been to nicer campgrounds? Yes. Have we been to worse ones? Yes. Will we return to this one on a future trip? YES!

We camped in a tent at Rusnik for 6 nights. The people at the desk were always so friendly and helpful. The place was extremely quiet and well kept. The pool was always clean as were the bathrooms. Out site was relatively close to others, yet still felt private. The laundry facilities were immaculate. The few downsides (and these weren't deal breakers for us). There are no activities. So many camp grounds we have visited have daily activities for families. There is no snack bar or morning coffee, and the camp "store" is very limited. Other than these observations, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rustic yet comfortable. We will be back!

After doing the week (or 2 week) camping trips 2 or 3 hours away we decided to start looking for a place closer to home so we could enjoy camping more frequently. Drove by this place all my life because it is short distance from my house and work. Tented a few weekends, met some seasonal campers, did our research, and decided to make this spot our "vacation home". Family issues make it difficult to get away for a "whole week or two" but being so close to home not only gives us the peace of mind that if anything goes wrong we can be right home, but also the feeling of being on vacation because once you drive through the gate you would think you are in the woods of Maine or NH. Needless to say we have been seasonal campers (I personally stay there EVERY night) for 5 years now and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. The bad reviews are somewhat exaggerating from people that are probably used to staying in a hotel. This place is run smoothly by a very friendly and professional staff. Sure they have rules like everywhere else and a hiccup here and there but the pool is well maintained and close proximity to beaches, shopping, and Newburyport, Ma for great dining spots, and TAX free New Hampshire for shopping makes this an ideal spot for a seasonal camper or a layover for a longer camping trip. They now have WiFi in the rec-hall and I have used it sitting by the pool. Keep up the good work and try it for yourself folks. Its a campground, not a hotel.

No cable, no wifi (anywhere), no sewer on site. The elect is only 30 amp and barely that. Power on the margin..barely 100 volts out of a 120 wall socket. Dirty bathrooms and PAY SHOWERS. Only 25 cents per 5 mins but while they took the time to install pay systems in the showers, the money would have been better spent upgrading. the 25cents collected for the showers probably can't even cover the cost of cleaning them. It seems penny-pinching. OLD 30 amp sockets and no reset at the plug. The breakers are in a building and you need to call if you trip them.

While the rates were a little on the lower-end of the scale, not by much considering what you DON'T get.

On the positive side, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The pool was very nice, although that was also a bit dirty considering how few people were in it.

We came to rusnik on a whim as we were making our way through Massachusetts. They were very cool about us having our dogs. (Everywhere else required papers which we didnt think to bring) the showers are pay but it's only a quarter for 5 minutes. The pool is very nice and the campground is super close to salisbury beach and Hampton beach. If you're looking for fancy accommodations this isn't the place, but if you want friendly people a nice pool and a place to plop a tent or camper for your beach trip I think this place is great! The other reviews are super critical of this place, but lets face it...it's a campground not a hotel. I will be back next time we are in the area.
