Great customer service on the phone, great customer service when we walked in. Mike listened to how we wanted to use the kayaks and outfitted us with models that safely suited our experience level and ability (including my mild mobility disability). He delivered the kayaks to our start point, portaged them to Scorton Creek for us, gave us some tips on navigating the sand bars in the creek and how to take advantage of the falling then rising tide, and gave us push-off. Significantly, he gave me some suggestions for how to get in and out of the kayak by myself--before today I had always needed help! At the end of our time he came to collect the kayaks. Each rental included kayak, life jacket, paddle, a drybag for our phone, and a floating box for our keys. Our kayaks said "Made in USA" on them, in case that's important to you. It is to us. I'll return to Ride Away and will recommend it enthusiastically to everyone who asks.
We went on a weekday in early June.
Tip: Ask for an extra dry bag for your camera if you have one. We didn't realize until after Mike had left that ours wouldn't fit in the sleeve with our phone. Fortunately it wasn't an issue.
