OMG Terrible Easter Dinner! Start with the menu, appetizers 6-11 dollars, but the selection was Easter deviled eggs to Lobster roll. Creamed potato and Leek soup, thats not quite appetizing. Dinners were priced from $18 to $31 dollars, this included a glass of water, and store bought dinner rolls only. No salad, no desert, no cranberry sauce. Yes, if you wanted a salad you had to pony up another $6-$10 dollars for the beet & goat cheese salad. Easter dinner entrees were haddock, beef, salmon, turkey, duck, or tofu. No ham. Really, no ham on easter. So turkey, duck, and salmon were the choices. Vegetable was cauliflower medley. There is a reason nobody uses cauliflower as their main vegetable...It's not a primary vegetable, it's unattractive on white plates, and it is neutral tasting. Guess what, the dinner vegetable was just that! Exactly what you want when you're paying $26-$31 for a meal. The starch was honey sweet potatoes. Very good, no issues. Turkey was very good, satisfying portion as well. Salmon was dry from being under the heat/heat lamps too long, a dry outer texture is not visually or tastefully appealing. Duck was dry and for a dark meat, it should have been served moist. Rice was the starch for the salmon and duck. Rice was...rice, kinda like the dinner rolls from Walmart. Service was average, certainly not a 4-5 star Easter dinner rave review. Dinner was served in a very timely fashion, no issues with the kitchen timing the delivery time. Desert, ah no. We had already rung up $140.00 without appetizers, salad, adult beverages, or desert. $180 with tip and oh yes, no cranberry sauce for the turkey. Folks when charging $180, serve salads with the dinner meal, include ice cream or cake for desert, and include coffee and soda for the kids. Value was as scarce as the cranberry sauce. Skip the Dan'l Webster Inn next time. I recommend the Coonamessett Inn, Falmouth, or perhaps even the Marshland restaurant for the same menu and only $80. Family of 5, 4 adults, 1 child.

Late lunch in Tavern mid-week. Excellent service, a really well-made Manhattan, (that is rare) and beef tips so succulent that they will be remembered as the best ever. Key Lime Pie to enjoy then and later with the memory of perfection. A good waitress, attentive and personable ...all in all, an occasion to remember. A bit pricier, but well worth it for the best. They made us feel welcomed and comfortable in a warm and inviting atmosphere and fed us with great food...what else could we want! A lunch turned into an occasion to remember.

Met up with some old friends today and chose to have lunch in The Tavern vs the nice dining room so we could comfortably enjoy each others company and not feel we would disrupt anyone with our laughing and giggling as we typically do when together. I love the Tavern's atmosphere....always cozy and on chilly days they have a large hearth fireplace going - and today was no exception. We had an awesome waiter, Brian, who was very attentive however as my friends and I were talking so much, we just ordered drinks for the first hour or so. Brian was accommodating and at no time showed annoyance towards our 'dallying'. When we finally got around to ordering our lunch, we all selected one of the specials - a chicken salad with cranberries and walnut, layered on apple slices on toasted whole wheat bread!! OMG - it was just awesome and I would LOVE to see this item on their menu. I've posted a picture as well. My friends and I ended up staying for FOUR HOURS with more drinks and catching up. Brian was still very attentive while he also covered a number of other tables in the room. It was so nice to be able to enjoy my friends without feeling we might be nudged along for overstaying our welcome. We were certainly watching other tables and would have moved to the bar if we felt we were keeping new business away from our waiter. All in all it was a great experience...one of many that I have had eating in both the Tavern and the Dining Room.

The staff did experience a little smoke from the fireplace during our stay...wasn't sure if it was bad wood they put on or the flu was not working. But, they did have to close it down to stop further smoke from filling the Tavern. Was unfortunate - but we were experiencing a very windy day and maybe that had influence on the chimney's drawy.

Please note, this is a very popular spot on week-ends with groups of diners there to attend weddings, showers, women's lunches and the like. The parking lot can get full quickly. If you have a senior in your party, the Inn provides I nice drive-through carport where you can drop people in your group to avoid walking in from a far back parking space.

I will certainly return again as I know I can always count on great service no matter what area of the Inn I may be dining in.

While I've enjoyed the restaurant many times in the past, I've learned not to go on any special occasion such as Valentine's Day etc.
Even with a reservation made well in advance the restaurant is terribly over crowded and well behind schedule.
Any other time has been satisfactory
