“Pleasantly Surprised”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

I've never been one to go to chain restaurants while on vacation, but tried BBC because it looked interesting enough from the outside. We had great food and friendly service. When I couldn't decide on a beer, I was able to get a beer flight which was really enjoyable. I had a delicious thick piece of cod with mashed potatoes. The dessert did not disappoint either. Watch your timing if you sit in the bar area on a Saturday night. They start moving out some tables at 8PM to make way for live music.

“Great meal”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

We go to the BBC every year when we're in Sandwich and always have a great meal.
Being from England I wouldn't say it's very British more American but it's always good.

“Reasonable prices, decent food, good bar”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

This is part of a small chain of restaurant/pub locations here, and they are all pretty good. Great? Not so much, but reasonable in terms of price and not bad in terms of service and quality. The British Beer Company has a very attractive and varied menu and their entrees are in the $15-20 range. Yesterday we has a piece of cod, done just right, with some cheese sauce on the side. Around $15. The service is sketchy because these are mostly high school kids who don't really get it. They say all the right things, but they are a disorganized and rather unprofessional. But this is summer season and the quality of service at most restaurants in this price range is spotty. The bar is quite nice with a very wide array of international and local beers on tap along with the usual brands. The wines range form so-so to pretty good but nothing more. Consider it acceptable. The view? Zippo. Don't expect water views or sea breezes here.
This an OK place for families and the bar is comfortable for anyone. We have been here a few times and while we have never been awed, we have had good meals. For something in the area that is nicer, consider Mattakeese Wharf, a few miles east on the same highway (Route 6A,
Kings Highway, which is as picturesque and pleasant as you'll find around here, with all its art studios and pottery shops). That restaurant had great food, a fine bar and beautiful views, but it's a step or two ... or three ... up the scale. Worth the difference if that's what you want.
For casual and comfortable dining, The British Beer Company is just fine.

“Takeout traffic jam!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

After waiting 2 hours for takeout that was supposed to be ready in 1/2 hour we will never again give them our business! Total nightmare for so many families who also waited. Very poor service and they still shorted our order.

“Nothing above average”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

I don't know why they struck themselves as a British pub. We spent many years in the uk and this bears little resemblance to a decent pub. The waitresses are more keen on chatting to each other than doing their jobs, the food is ok. This isn't worth a special visit and we only went because our motel was next door and we were tired after a long drive.
