One of the best things about the Pilot House (formerly Aqua Grille) is its location adjacent to the Cape Cod Canal and the Sandwich Marina. The enclosed year round wraparound porch is relaxing and offers nice views. In the summer months outdoor seating is also available. It also has a welcoming bar area which is great for munching on appetizers while sipping a drink.
We went to the Pilot House for lunch on a recent Saturday and our server was friendly and attentive. The fried seafood platter was fine, although ordinary. The crab cake appetizer was rather greasy and dark - not the white lump crab with a light crisp cracker coating that I was hoping for.
This restaurant has alot going for it and I really want to like this place - but somehow it always seems to be lacking in some aspect, so is disappointing.
