The Dunbar Tea Shop is a very cozy tea room. We sat by the fireplace in the paneled room.
there is a very large selection of teas, both caffinated and herbal. The food was very good, lots of sandwiches and quiche as well as high and cream teas. The service was OK, I sometimes thought they had forgotten us. Then, it is a tea room, and one should relax. I would go back again if I were in the area.

I have been to the Dunbar Tea Room a few times and it has always been lovely with fantastic food.

This time we wondered if the place was going downhill. We were not thrilled with the food and the service was downright poor. Our server was not rude just in attentive. We had to wait for everything we asked for. Water, more strawberry jam, the check.

As I said, we have been there a few times so we are hoping the service issue is a rare occurrence. We will probably return at some point in the future.

We just happened to come across this restaurant and it is one of the highlights of our week long trip to Maine and the Cape. Good atmosphere, prompt and friendly service. The tea sandwiches are very original and delicious, served with a salad and an excellent homemade dressing. The bread is so good that we could have made our lunch of only bread and tea. They also serve a wonderful and spicy mustard with some of the sandwiches. We will highly recommend the Dunbar tea room for anyone looking for something other than lobster rolls while in New England.

I don't know if this is actually strictly true but as a Brit who loves American coffee but just occasionally hankers for a real cup of Darjeeling made from proper leaves and served in a Willow pattern cup with properly boiled water from a warmed pot this is the place to go.

What a change to drink from something of quality rather than polystyrene from Starbucks - ugghhh!

My friends and I go regularly when we are at the Cape. The owners could not be nicer , in fact the whole staff is great. Service and food are excellent at tea time. Atmosphere is great. Would recommend this to everyon who enjoys afternoon tea.
