The Inn at Scituate Harbor

Our stay at The Inn at Scituate Harbor was about as perfect as one could be. The "lobby" should more appropriately be called the "welcome area." It was intimate, and the warm, friendly staff cheerfully answered all of our questions and made us feel immediately at home. Our room was spotless, beautifully and tastefully appointed with an appropriate New England motif that brought our harborside view inside. Even when The Inn was registered to capacity, the intimacy was not compromised. Our nights were quiet and restful, and the Continental breakfast spread interesting and ample. A staff member was always visible and available, day or night, and appropriate security measures, including a very well-lighted parking area, were in place. On-site Pub and outdoor seating and a very clean indoor pool were a welcome addition to the overall charm of this lovely picture postcard seaside town's best place to stay!

This Inn is located halfway between Boston and Plymouth (the two towns we planned to visit). The price was economical (especially compared to the Boston area hotels). The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our 3 night stay. The view of the Harbor is pleasant. The salt water pool was wonderful. The continental breakfast was a bit lacking. The inn was older than we expected and could definitely use further updates, my husband was more disappointed than I with the room. He had been under the impression we were staying at a Bed & Breakfast, as this Inn was registered as such by B&B websites. This is not a "fancy" inn, however for the price and location the room was adequate and clean. We struggled the first night to get the a.c. to work, but the staff promptly assisted us to remedy the situation.

The new owners of the Inn should be congratulated on thier renovation of this jewel! My husband & I live in Scituate but managed to sneak away for a delightful overnight at the Inn this past week-end. From the moment we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff, we knew we were in for a real treat!. After checking into our spacious room, we walked around Scituate's quaint harbour, shopping at all the local merchants. Back at the hotel we enjoyed a drink and wonderful appetizers at the new pub- what a great addition to the hotel. The bartender was friendly and attentive- and they serve the best sweet potato fries I have ever tasted! A nice walk down around the lighthouse and we were ready for dinner. There are so many great restaurants within a very short walking distance from this hotel- you can't go wrong at any on them! Our guest room was awesome- the hotel boasts an ocean/harbor view from each room and we were not disappointed. The freash ocean air combined with the extremely comfortable king sized bed and luxurious linens made for a great nights sleep. We woke to the most incredible sunrise! Althought the view from our room was great, at 6:30 am, we wandered downstairs to the lobby where they had fresh hot coffee which we carried out to the new deck. The view was amazing- Sunday mornings do not get much better than this! A dip in the salt water indoor swimming pool after the continental breakfast was the topping on the cake. Our overnight stay at the Inn proves that you really do not have to travel far from home to enjoy a weekend away! Whether you are from out of state, or live more locally like us, this Inn is a great place to come, turn off the cell phone, and really relax- you will be very pleased you did.

We needed a spot for an overnight stay between Boston and Cape Cod, and were limited in our options because we were traveling with our two (small and well-behaved little) dogs. We could easily have driven to Plymouth but wanted to avoid the more touristy areas. Scituate was just right for a stroll, dinner, and a quick overnight.

The Inn at Scituate Harbor was just right *for us.* Granted, I probably would not have picked a room on the third floor if I had a choice, and would have liked a nicer view, but we were very happy to get reservations (esp. with pets) on short notice. The staff were extremely friendly, the room was nothing fancy but clean and comfortable, and there was a nice assortment of muffins and donuts for breakfast in the lobby the next morning. There's also a pub on site, and while we did not partake, it had a pretty patio and looked life a very nice spot to spend an evening. All in all a very pleasant place.

If you are someone who likes hotels where everything has to be new, modern, sparkly and sterile right down to the grout on the bathtub, it night not be for you. For us, it was just right, and we would definitely stay there again.

**Note to pet owners. The Inn is located right across the street from the docks, waterfront and shops. It's a charming place for a stroll. But take note: because Scituate is an old seaside town, the buildings are close together and there is very little green space that's not someone's private yard or storefront. If you're taking Rover for a walk, instead of heading right, into town, bring your baggies and head to the left instead. Just a suggestion--

We spent a weekend at The Inn for a local family event. They accommodated our extended family wonderfully. The kids loved the pool and the adults appreciated the amenities that included the free continental breakfast, the helpful staff and the bar/restaurant which was a great place for all of us to be able to congregate. The Inn is located right in Scituate Harbor so most everywhere you want to go is walkable - shops, movie theater, restaurants, beaches, etc. Would recommend the Inn to anyone!

Not the bicest place but much better than it had been in the past. Recently opened up a new bar and pool. The rooms will be clean but don't expect 5 star service and atmosphere. Can't beat the location for the area.
