“Fair Review”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

This place gets three stars because of the atmosphere which is very rustic. Its a throwback... dark, cozy, and comfortable. Unfortunately, that's the bet part.

The food is bland and of poor quality. I was there on a Friday with two others and we ordered french onion soup, cesar salad, lobster bisque, scallops, haddock, and smoked fish. The french on ion and cesar were adequate but after this the meal went down hill quickly. The lobster bisque taste like sherry not lobster, the "broiled" scallops were overcooked and doused in butter and oil; the haddock was overcooked, oily and definitely not fresh; the and the smoked fish dish was disgusting.... something you would throw together at a deer camp... oily, cheesy... would not feed it to my dog.

The service was average. The waitress was pleasant but ignored our table for long periods of time... always had empty water glasses. She also provided incorrect description regarding dishes (eg she stated that there was no cheese on the smoked fish dish... it was comprised of about 50% cheese).

The prices are high.... expensive for what is actually served.

Overall, the experience was average based on the atmosphere... would be a nice place for drinks at the bar. There are far better places to go for a night out so I would recommend avoiding for a full dinner.

“PJ's has earned their customers' loyalty”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

The food was very good as was the service. The menu provides quite a few options. There should be something for everyone. I enjoyed the Veal Oscar.

Very friendly staff and they seem to know most of the customers. I would guess many have been coming here for years (in some cases decades).

At PJ's you don't need someone to help explain what's on the menu. It's food you recognize and food cooked well.

“Walk away”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

This place has been run poorly since forever. The only redeeming quality being the piano bar. Food is served from pre made packages dumped by High School Drop Outs into pots. I'm not kidding. Nothing is home made. Nobody is a trained chef. Don't go here to eat.

“The worst $50 we ever spnet on a meal !”
Reviewed 16 November 2013

My wife and I were on the way back to Plymouth from the Northshore and wanted to try something different for a meal. It started out fine as the popovers and the Lobster Bisque were very good. From this point on it beyond us being a little disappointed.
I got the Baked Finnan Haddie, which was a smoked Cod in a Delmonico sauce. It was absolutely horrible, the first bite nearly made me gag tit so salty. The vegetable medley was either steamed or boiled way to long as the green beans, zucchini, and carrots were all mushy.
My wife ordered the steak tips with baked potato and hers was not any better. The potato was under cooked and slightly hard and the steak tips were as difficult to chew as they were to cut with the steak knife.
This is obviously one of those places that survives on the regulars who have been coming there for decades with family and hate to stop going there. At least some of these type places like Lindsey's in Wareham have very good home cooked type food.
We both left hungry and said we could not remember a meal that bad ever. It may not have been so bad had we stopped at some greasy spoon of the highway and paid significantly less money.
When asked if we wanted to box up the leftovers we said absolutely not !

“The longest wait ever for a meal.”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

I recently visit this restaurant and I was not happy, The wait for food is horrible everything from the appitizer, the drink and food took forever. Had to keep asking for our meal after an hr wait. Owner came over after the 3rd time and did nothing and waited again. Owner does not care about it customer and it shows. Will not come back again and will not recommend this place.
