“Good value”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

I booked this hotel for a weekend conference (Northeast Heather Society) as the price is reasonable, it is near the airport and it is a good starting point for visits all over southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Excellent restaurants nearby-Riviera and Gregg's. The front desk manager, Jeffrey is very helpful, a nice guy.
The hotel is clean and our room was very good. The breakfast is very good.
A big downside: no elevator from the lobby up to the second floor, where our room and our hospitality suite were located-a tough climb for senior citizens! We were told there is an elevator in the rear of the hotel; getting there would have meant a long walk to the back of this large building. Then, a long walk back to the front and our room on the second floor.

Where are these pictures from? Yes the lobby looks the same but that's where it stops. Our room looked nothing like any of these pictures. Old , tired and substandard. It advertised flatscreen TV. Our room had an old fashioned TV and we only received a few channels.
No water pressure in the shower. It advertised fridge in the room. We asked about it and front desk said you either get microwave or fridge. We had neither. An old beat up , dented fridge was delivered shortly.
It seems as if the owners either bit off more than they can chew with this property or they don't really care.
I booked this hotel against my better judgement and once again my gut feelings proved correct.Last time for this chain.
Good breakfast though.

We booked this hotel for location - close to a family get-together. While family had suggested the Hampton Inn - we were budget driven and decided to go for the Ramada. The lobby was very attractive and the check-in staff welcoming. The only apologies (and improvements needed) is that there is no elevator to the 2nd floor where we were to be located. It was a Saturday and the hotel was totally booked - so we trudged up the steps to the 2nd floor through extremely narrow halls, to our room

The room itself was nicely decorated and had very well done tile-work in the bath. There were doors on each side to adjoining rooms appropriately locked. Everything was totally clean, towels were plush. We had no complaints other than that the walls were thin so one could hear tv sets from the adjoining rooms. We were there 2 nights and the place was fairly empty and totally quiet the next night.

Breakfast was a great surprise - the eggs and meat (choice of sausage links/patties) were warm and tasty, muffins, fruit, etc - all nicely presented and kept full and clean. The dining room was filled with booths and tables and all were cleared immediately as guests left their tables. There were plenty of choices, real mugs.

The only reason I'm not giving it a 5* was due to the lack of elevator and the extremely narrow hallways, and limited cable news selection. Wifi was excellent.

The hotel is transitioning to Ramada from Hilltop - and we hope it keeps the best of both!

We have stayed here twice now and have no complaints other than the beds are a bit firm and the sheets are a bit stiff. Other than that, a great place to be close to Providence or Newport. Room was large - bathtub could accommodate a 6'+ man laying down it is so big. Food at breakfast is good and complimentary. Priced right and free wi fi! You also park for free - something you don't get in the cities for sure.

Room Tip: I would get on the second or third floor, and get a 'luxury' room - they are bigger.

We booked this hotel because the price was great for the area. We were there to sight-see and attend a wedding in the Boston/Newport area, it allowed easy access. They appear to be redecorating, so our king-size bed seemed to be new, and had fresh, clean bedding. Breakfast was served in the morning, it was good, with both hot and cold items. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The biggest issue I noticed frankly was the smell of the building, it smelled old, and could be a bit offensive in some areas of the building, particularly the back entrance area to the convention center. Trashcans in the convention center area were literally overflowing. The bathroom was large and clean, but only had a very small shower, which was difficult for my tall husband to use. There were broken tiles as well. There was only a single sink, so it would have been helpful if there was a mirror in the main room for the other person to use, it was a bit tight for both of us to use at the same time.

Overall it was a satisfactory stay for the money, and it looks as if they are working on updating the building, however, they still have some work to do.

Room Tip: Ask for a completely updated room, including the bathroom.

The location (just out of Providence) wasn't fantastic, by but don't let that put you off - this is a good hotel.

The rooms are spacious, clean and well decorated. Good sized TVs and other amenities. The bathroom was also spacious and well maintained.

Breakfast in the morning was of a good quality considering it was included in the price.
Overall we were more than satisfied with the hotel and would definitely stay again.

I have been here for two weeks for business and found this hotel to be a great value. The rooms are clean and comfortable and maintained well. The hotel itself has an old world charm. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The king rooms on the 2nd floor
