Description: The Bull Run in Shirley, MA is a full service, farm-to-table restaurant and concert venue housed in an historic Tavern & open Wed-Sun for lunch & dinner. Our menus change seasonally and we have a full bar including local brews on tap. We have two concert rooms, one seating 300 & another seating 65 and we feature national & regional acts across every genre of music as well as stand up comedy. Come for appetizers, a full dinner, brunch, lunch, pizza or dessert. We make everything from scratch, buy from the local family farms of Central New England & support the local community. Don't miss the legendary Egopantis who sees all from his perch above our back-to-back fireplaces!

Four of us came for dinner and the show (something we did before the new chef took over and enjoyed). Menu was limited to about 7 selections (none vegetarian). Tomato Concasse appetizer was tasty, but costs seven dollars and was only some barley and tomato. The pasta in the shrimp dish was totally overcooked into a big clump. When the diner complained, the waiter said "that's just the way it comes." Haddock came with no rice or potato, just what seemed to be frozen beans, and way undercooked carrots (they were harder to cut than the roast beef my son offered me from his plate). The so-called popover had completely the wrong texture. I could go on and on, but we were very disappointed and worried for the Bull Run. We are exactly the kind of people who would return for a good meal and some good music. But we felt we would never opt to order from the dinner menu again; we would try the pizza instead and hope for a better outcome.

The new chef clearly has been an impressive and welcoming change to the Bull Run. The food is excellent and the specials are always equally as excellent!. The atmosphere in the tap room is very enjoyable. I love the fact that much of there food is locally grown. The new atmosphere is refreshing but I think it will take some more time for the employees to adjust to all of the changes as most have been there for a considerable amount of time. Some of the waitstaff are extremely good and very friendly and others seem distant and not so friendly. On the weekend it has been getting increasingly busy so I would suggest you call in advance.

The Bullrun is now better than ever. Delicious food- locally grown or raised when possible.
Great new menu. Awesome musical acts and plenty of old fashioned New England hospitality. Great job Bullrun. So glad to see you are putting new time and energy into such wonderful place.
