Christina and Stephen are amazing hosts and so helpful about sites to see in Boston. It was very clean, parking was free and on a quiet street. The great thing was how close it was to the T (subway) and very easy to get to downtown Boston. Kerry and Marla

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor which had a large ensuite bathroom

my stay at the Bowers House Bed and Breakfast was a superb experience. I highly recommend that place. The Owners went WAY out of their way to be helpful.
They are very pleasant people.
Thank you very much.

Room Tip: All rooms are good-speak with the owner

This house is located in a great location, close to Davis Square with tons of restaurants. It is also very close to the T station, so you can get anywhere quickly. Convenience is just one part of the charm. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming, with suggestions for food or sight seeing. A nice spread of bakery items, fruit, yogurt, etc, was available to get your morning started, with cookies in the afternoon and evening. We had a great stay and would highly recommend the Bowers House.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bowers House. As we were driving to Boston for a couple days of vacation, we were looking for a place outside the city-proper to park and take the T as needed. Bowers House is located on the Red Line, about a 15 minute train ride from downtown. The hostess, Christine, made our stay easy, from helping with parking to giving suggestions about points of interest to visit. Our room was cozy, had plenty of space, a comfortable bed, and a private bathroom. The continental breakfast was of a higher quality than you'd find at may other places--bakery items, Chobani yogurt, fresh fruit, and single-serving coffee varieties hit the spot. Was slightly surprised at the lack of recycling, but real dishware was available. There were also plenty of restaurants/bars surrounding Bowers House in Davis Square and the nightlife seemed active, especially for midweek. All-in-all, we had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Some rooms are atop stairs, so read the room descriptions when reserving if that matters to you.

My company has an office in Somerville and I stay here every time I come up. Well, except once when the B&B was booked so I got stuck at a Marriott in downtown Boston. I now schedule my business trips around room availability because the rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable on top of the convenience. My favorite room is the the queen bedroom on the top floor at the end of the hallway. I like that they have a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen instead of the typical coffee makers in hotels where you're not sure how clean it is. They stock their fridge with fruits and yogurt and it's nice that they usually have a plate of cookies out if you're craving late night sweets.

The owners are also very nice and accommodating. The hosts have always made sure that I have what I need and that my stay is going well.

I can't rave enough about this place. It's convenient, safe and it makes me feel like I'm at home rather than a typical, generic hotel room. I also brought my wife this time and she liked it as well. Her comment while I'm writing this is "ditto on everything you said."

Christine is a new breed of hostess- she provides the accomodations and you use them as you wish. A group breakfast can be quaint but if you want to sleep in, you can eat a la carte at Bowers. Fruit and baked items, yogurt- just take what you want. It's like you crashed at a friend's renovated house in a great neighborhood, with parking and a loaded fridge. Close to all the great eats & shops in Somerville, near Tufts, running trail and the Davis Square "T."

Consider the cost of a Boston hotel room. Now consider hotels near the Expo center, in the middle of nowhere. Bowers beats these on both price and personality. Great for a biz trip or getaway.

Room Tip: If you are fussy, take the room with its own bathroom. Going across the hall was fine for us, tho, e...
