“Classic pub grub”
Reviewed 30 April 2013

There are a zillion Irish pubs in greater Boston, but the Burren really is one of the best. The food is better than average pub food, the Guinness is delicious, and it's always bustling with fun people and frequent live music. Plus, it's huge! Just walk toward the back and you'll be amazed at how far back it goes. This means you usually don't have to wait TOO long for a table.

“Noisy & Irish in feel”
Reviewed 15 November 2012

I liked the location and atmosphere (outside and in). However
impossible to hear conversation over the roar (seek tables in very back). Good selection of beers and ales

“Great place for beer and entertainment”
Reviewed 4 November 2012

Great place for beer and entertainment…

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon; the previous weekend we tried to get in for dinner but the wait was too long. That night the bar was packed and looked like a great place to hang out for a few hours and have a few beers…

Saturday afternoon we were entertained in this old pub by a group of college aged musicians; their music was high-energy jigs with some fingerpicking tunes; their sound was traditional Irish tunes. How terrific having some live music for lunch.

Beer selection was above average; typical market prices $5 -$6.

Lunch menu would qualify as “cheap eats” by my standard. Most, if not all items are well under $10. Food was accetpable but nothing to rave about to Trip Advisor followers. Service like the food was okay but...

For the total package I do recommend the Burren…overall a good experience.

“80's Thursdays with Scatter Shot”
Reviewed 30 October 2012

The front boasts a classic irish pub hosted by live acoustic bands. Follow through a small hallway lined with booth seating to the back and you reach another bar with a different live band. Thursday nights are 80's night, hosted by the band Scatter Shot. They do amazing renditions of 80's music and everyone loves to dance. The drinks are good and at average prices... but the best part is the music!
