Beach House at Bass River
Reviewed 5 August 2014

We just spent a long weekend at the Beach House and loved it! The location just can't be beat! Literally right on the ocean, with a nice grassy area to sit as well as the beach. It was so nice to just walk out the patio door and right onto the beach. The room was a nice size with a small refrigerator. The bathroom was outdated but clean and well maintained.
I loved the fact that this is a smaller hotel- I think they only have like 25 rooms- which I prefer over the bigger 'resort' type places. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. There is no pool but with the ocean right there, we didn't miss having one! They do provide a nice breakfast in the mornings with fresh fruit and breads. They also serve their homemade granola which is awesome! The hotel really isn't in walking distance to any restaurants but it is very close to the main road which has all sorts of restaurants, shops and activities. We really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to come back!

We have been staying here for years! Location is great, right on the ocean! Can beat the rooms with a view . Nice that they have a lawn for those that do not want to get sandy. Very clean, rooms with great space, fridge in room. No safe available, only downside. Breakfast included and a nice spread. Can't beat this place!

This B&B is more like a motel than a traditional B&B. It has 26 units, many facing the ocean. The rooms are differently equipped. Our room had a single queen bed. Amenities include a private bathroom, refrigerator, air conditioning and cable TV (although the TV is an ancient 20" CRT, but we didn't come here for TV).

Each unit has either a balcony or patio. Our stay included a continental breakfast which I found a bit underwhelming. Not a lot of fruit or cereal. Mainly mini bagels (plain) and perhaps some breads.

Nice and quiet even during the day but I attribute this to the fact that there is no pool or jacuzzi.

It's biggest feature is that it's right on the beach. So if that's what you're looking for, you found the right place. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for second floor, with ocean view.

Unfortunately I only had the time to spend one night there. It is right on the beach (private)and even if the room is not facing the water, it is still great. The distance to the water is close so one does not have to go far to reach the water. Breakfast was great. No eggs but plenty of fruits, juices and good quality pastry and bagels, muffins. The place is very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful

A beautiful, relaxing spot to enjoy life by the sea. Our ocean view room was just perfect offering a lovely view of the lounging lawn, private beach and surf from the room and the comfy balcony. Just loved living and sleeping to the sound of the breaking waves. Nice beach to walk, and much warmer water than on the bay side of the Cape. The continental breakfast was fresh and ample, and old be enjoyed on the lawn, the beach, in your room, or on your balcony (my favorite place). The staff was friendly and helpful. I will return and am recommending the Beach House to friends and family, as well as to the Trip Advisor Community. No pool...strictly ocean swimming, and no fitness center....but beautiful beach to walk.....(the whole point for us).

Room Tip: We stayed in the Gull House...dead center view to the ocean.

The Beach House at Bass River is our favorite! We've stayed there every summer for the past
twelve years and always look forward to returning. We love the warm friendly, helpful staff (particularly Pat, Wendy, and Ashley, with whom we've had the most contact). We always stay in Room 16,which is comfortable, has a great oceanfront view, and is kept very clean by the efficient, cordial housekeepers. An added plus is the buffet breakfast served, which is always fresh and plentiful. We definitely recommend a stay at the Beach House!

The Beach House is perfectly situated on the beach. Our room was on the upper level with an oceanfront view. Very clean and comfortable. It's definitely worth the money to go for the oceanfront rooms. Breakfast was good: muffins, assorted breads, teas, juices, coffee. If you want something more substantial, Hearth n Kettle is very good. Especially good is The Keltic Kitchen. Huge portions and the food was excellent, a definite must before you leave the Cape. Lots of mini golf courses. We went to Pirates Cove which was really fun. For dinner, The Skipper is.very good but be prepared to wait. Also good was DiParma's in Hyannis. No shortage of ice cream parlors. Two good ones is the one connected to The Skipper and The Cape Cod Creamery. All in all, a very nice time.

Room Tip: Oceanfront rooms are best.
