My husband and I made our second trip to the CFH because our first trip was rip-roaring fantastic. It wasn't that it was a wild stay, it was that it wasn't. We received the care and attention from our hosts, Nancy and Michael, that we so badly needed. (We were pooped).
Russell's Hideaway was the perfect room for us. We did hide away from the world and emerged for beautifully prepared breakfasts which changed daily. LOTS of food to eat, but we forced ourselves nevertheless. How can one not eat homemade waffles with strawberries?
The consignment shops of the local area are networked. I discovered on this trip. This made one day quite eventful for me at least! The CFH is centrally located to many other sites of interest, if one is motivated to find them. Yet, everything one may need for a relaxing getaway is right at the Captain's House with your loved one. I can't wait to return in the spring!More
