“Cooking Class demonstration”

What a wonderful experience listening and enjoying good friends at the Red Maple Inn in Spencer, MA...Chef Sheri Alexander put on a wonderful demonstration of Julia Child's Bistro favorites and we sat down and listened and enjoyed........food was fabulous and I walked out of there with wonderful feeling of having met new friends....I would definitely go again!

Room Tip: If given a chance to go again, I would definitely stay there, the atmosphere is wonderful....

My husband and I attended the Tuscany themed cooking school in September. What a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious and there was no shortage of wine!!! It was no nice to socialize with the other guests at the table and get to know them. Very comfortable atmosphere. I would highly recommend this to all my family and friends. An awesome night out!!

So glad we picked this bed and breakfast to spend the night during our visit to Brimfield and the surrounding area. The Rose room was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The bed was dreamy. Our breakfasts were delicious. The owner was so helpful in making our trip special by recommending two outstanding restaurants in the area. Overall, the host, room, and breakfasts couldn't have been better.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful but the Rose room on the main floor was especially nice and quiet.

On the Main St. of Spencer, Mass, conveniently located 10-15 min. from Sturbridge Village. Host very welcoming, rooms very pleasant, nicely decorated, clean and well provided (coffee, toiletries, tv and dvds etc.) and as a bonus on a warm summer night, a large, pleasant back yard to enjoy.
The bedding was excellent and beds very comfortable. Great breakfast with good choices (made the night before). WiFi was, at best, occasional. But all in all, a good choice.

Thank you, thank you for your wonderful review, so glad you had a great stay!
P.S. We're working on the Wi-Fi, it's a challenge in this 1780 historic home with our thick, horse-hair plaster covered walls! There's always service in the Parlor and Dining Room.

a lovely home just outside of Boston. The Rose room where we stayed was well decorated and spacious. The owner was friendly and suggested several options for dinner. The breakfast room was lovely and so was the meal. The only drawback was the busy road outside and the noise of he traffic. Both the B+B and Spencer would benefit from some traffic calming

Room Tip: I would choose a room on the back of the house because of the noise from the traffic

A very nice home and a delicious breakfast. Whether it is the food and the dishes on the table, the carpets on the floor, or the surrounding art, fabrics, and wall hangings, the owners understand the meaning of quality.

Highly recommend spending some extra time to visit the Worcester Art Museum. It is world class, and under appreciated (meaning you will have the museum to yourself!)

Thank you, Charles, we are very proud of the quality of our home's decoration, and we especially appreciate your noting the original artwork on our walls, much of it by renowned neo-Impressionist painter Bruno Zupan, and also for mentioning our proximity to the Worcester Fine Arts Museum, one of the finest small museum collections anywhere and a must-visit for any true art lovers. Whew! I hope that run-on sentence won't deter you from visiting us again soon!

The Red Maple Inn is a well-appointed old building set in the middle of historic Spencer, MA. Very professionally managed by attentive owners. Our room (Peach) for a two night get-a-way celebration of the 50th anniversary of our first date, faced the street which is the rather busy MA Rt 9. Best to keep the windows closed and run the AC to minimize traffic noise. The room was attractively arranged and had a very comfortable bed. The tidy private bath was a bit cramped but entirely adequate. This was my first acquaintance with a night-before breakfast selection menu, hung on outside of room door. Breakfast selections were tasty and attractive if not sumptuous. Definitely recommend.

Room Tip: If one is sensitive to street traffic noise ask for a room facing the back of the property.

We thank the guests for their recommendation and we were pleased they chose The Red Maple Inn to celebrate their anniversary. We also welcome the opportunity to discuss our practice of "night-before breakfast selection."

Unlike most BandBs in our experience, we do not offer the single "entrée of the day." In our travels we find this "take it or leave it" breakfast to be less than ideal. To be offered an inn's "famous" French toast when you are following a low-carb diet is not very comforting, no matter how justly "famous" it is. We decided long-ago to offer a breakfast menu with several choices so that every guest could find somethng they like. However, in practical terms, the only way a small inn can offer a large menu is to ask guests to pre-order their breakfast.

By asking our guests to pre-order we are able to offer a wide menu of carefully prepared made-to-order selections.

Our breakfast begins with a choice of juices, coffees and teas, fresh-baked muffins, as well as a daily fresh fruit course.

This is followed by a choice of entrées which includes:

Virginia Ham & Vermont Chedder Scramble
Omelet of the Day (Spinach & Feta, Mushrooms & Gruyere, Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese, etc.)
French Toast of the Day (Blueberry, Banana-Walnut, Pumpkin, etc.)
Oatmeal with Fruit
Inn-Made Granola

In addition, we offer a choice of accompaniments which include fresh-baked Croissants, local Sausage and Roasted Potatoes Provençal.

Of course everyone's idea of a "sumptuous" breakfast varies, but we are extremely proud of the variety, quality and quantity of food we offer our guests, and we are confident that it far exceeds the industry standard. Does it take more time and effort to offer a full menu of breakfast choices? Yes, of course it does. We think our guests deserve it.

Again, thank you for the recommendation and we hope to welcome you on a return visit.
