My fiance and I stopped in at the Red Lion for a late lunch after visiting the Rockwell Museum. The atmosphere was a little stuffy, but this is probably what they are going for with "historic charm". The decor was not my style, but it fit with the building. The entry had a lovely fireplace where many people were gathered enjoying each other's company. The service was great and the menu included a variety of locally produced foods. We both enjoyed cheeseburgers as we watched the servers change the room over to dinner service which included some beautiful pewter place settings. I am happy that we had the opportunity to eat here given its history but if we were to return to the area we would probably try another option.

We had a simple lunch in the tavern which was excellent. Service excellent, atmosphere fun and a nice private table. We had the misfortune to be behind a very demanding client in line for service. Who thru obnoxious behavior not only humiliated the maitre'd of the dining room but then proceeded to the tavern to harass the bartender and was rude and obnoxious in front of other clientele. Ultimately he got what he wanted but was very painful to watch. Too bad that the institution has to put up with this behavior. We will return because our experience with staff was professional.

There was great service in an elegantly old fashioned atmosphere at this restaurant. It was very much what you would expect in New England. The chicken pot pie was second only to Paula Deen's. A must stop for lunch when visiting Norman Rockwell territory.

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice meal this weekend at the Red Lion Inn. It is a special experience to simply be at the Inn. The food is excellant however the atmosphere is one of a kind. Additionally the service is superb. The age of the Inn puts you in a time zone that you will remember for a long time.

Our large party was seated at the "Rockwell Table", a large and comfortable table in a semiprivate area at the back of the dining room. It was a leisurely, relaxed meal, with great service. We have some foodies and wine connoisseurs in the group, and everybody was thoroughly pleased!
