“Great choice for a quick breakfast/brunch”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

Very nice variety of breakfast offerings, a stone's throw down the street from the Red Lion Inn. Seasonal offerings, local focus, just delicious! With the big picture window looking out over the street, we spent a leisurely breakfast just enjoying the company and atmosphere. Loved the pumpkin latte!

“Excellent Breakfasts”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

Excellent florentine eggs with grilled vegetables (luckily no greasy home fries)...and very good Pumpkin french toast with walnuts, cranberries and whipped cream. Coffee was just ok, not very strong.

“Good for coffee and morning snack”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

We had a very pleasant few hours in lovely village of Stockbridge well worth a visit in its own right. After looking around the fascinating ' Red Lion ' hotel/museum we looked for a mid-morning snack and came across the ' Main Street Cafe. ' It was busy but we found a seat near the window where we could people watch. There was a lone server but we were not in a hurry so didn't mind waiting. The coffee, tea and cakes were of a good standard and reasonably priced. They also do more substantial meals. The cashier was very helpful taking time to give comprehensive directions to a nearby museum, although he was obviously busy. Well worth a visit.

Had breakfast this past weekend here. Waiter was very good. Food was also fresh and nicely prepared Had nice table by window so could watch folks walk by. Would go again.

“Okay food, but rude waitresses”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

While recently exploring New England, we had breakfast at this eatery in downtown Stockbridge. The food was pretty good, but as several other reviewers have commented, some of the servers have a rather arrogant, snooty attitude. When we first walked in, the lone waitress was busy with other customers and couldn't greet us. It was unclear if we were expected to first order at a counter at one end, or if we placed our order after being seated at a table. My wife asked for clarification, and the server responded negatively as though we were complaining about not being seated immediately. We didn't care either way, just wanting to know the protocol. From that point onward we were regarded as demanding trouble-makers, and her attitude registered barely restrained contempt. And when a second waitress came on duty and served our food, she had the same rude manner. Apparently, she'd been warned that we were trouble. The icy negativity didn't make for a pleasant dining experience! Consequently, when an ordered item didn't arrive at our table and no second cup of coffee was offered, we didn't feel as though we should dare to ask for them. Oddly, the same two young women were quite friendly with other customers (locals?). But we also noted that a neighboring table of folks with British accents had to ask for missing foods, and like us, waited and waited for the bill to be brought. We'll definitely dine elsewhere the next time we visit Stockbridge.
