I've been here twice in my travels through Stockbridge. This market is off the main street, and seems to be a local favorite. Lots of friendly people coming and going. There is a diner counter, and they offer sandwiches and also breakfast in the morning. Not fine dining, but a good inexpensive meal. Also kid friendly, and you can pick up other supplies while you are there.

Sounded cute but food was drab. Pop in to buy some chips or drink or for the nostalgia, but eat elsewhere.

Attracted by the fully-occupied counter seats, we had breakfast at one of Elm Street Market's three tables. Service was prompt and pleasant and my brother-in-law was impressed with his granola. We all appreciated the fact that they serve fair trade, shade-grown coffee, but not that it was served in paper cups. The pancakes were freshly-made and arrived hot, but they were indifferent and the accompanying syrup was merely sweet.
We should have paid more attention to what the regulars were ordering.
(The outdoor seating and bar scene scores below are accidental and irrelevant - couldn't remove consequences of imprecise typing on an iPad. [Advice will be appreciated.])

Unbelievable inexpensive breakfast. Small and intimate store with a few tables and a long dinner type counter. Very friendly and helpful staff. Also can get picnic lunches for noon time as carry out. Very reasonable sandwiches.
