The Red Lion Inn is a great way to celebrate the Christmas spirit! The waitstaff, front desk . housekeeping staff.and management are efficient and friendly in a hustling bustling atmosphere... Top notch service. If someone can't find their Christmas here I feel sad for them.

We just got back from a two night stay at The Red Lion Inn, having first spent one night at a far more expensive mansion hotel we had booked and were very underwhelmed by (to go unnamed - they kindly let us out of the rest of our commitment). The Red Lion was such a delightful surprise! We stayed in the newer Maple Glenn house building which still had plenty of old-time feel with modern amenities like heated bathroom floors, coffeemaker, fridge, excellent heating, and a very comfy bed and good linens. Everywhere you wanted a lamp or shelf to be, there was one (I find this is rare in hotels). We couldn't have been more comfortable. Dining room and room service meals were all excellent. Staff were energetic and nice. Truly a perfect experience.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Our Maple Glenn guest house is a favorite among our guests as it blends classic antiques with quirky décor (just take a peak at our collection of TV lamps displayed on our staircase) and modern amenities seamlessly. When the weather co-operates, having a morning coffee on the wrap around porch of Maple Glenn, or braving the chill in the air with an afternoon cup of hot cocoa, can also be loads of fun. Come back inside to warm up by the fireplace in the common area while sitting on the ‘throne’ (our unique up-cycled bottle cap chair) and enjoy a board game with loved ones. The Red Lion Inn designed Maple Glen with our guest’s comfort in mind and it is lovely to hear from our guests that we have achieved that goal.

O.K. I hinted that the Red Lion is somewhat old inside. Of course, it is nearly 250 years old! The staff couldn't be nicer, and the rooms are surely comfortable, but the ambiance of our two-room suite was that of my grandmother, and I'm going on 80. That's not so bad if you like wallpaper on all your walls. But the commode needed tightening of the screws holding the seat, the shower was a little finicky, and the heat was a bit difficult to keep adjusted properly. The bed, though, was quite comfortable, both rooms had TVs, and there was a refrigerator. We were in the main building on the third floor; so I feel impelled to point out that the nearest elevator, dating from the 19th century, requires a staff member to operate it, and the other requires a little hike to get to it from the dining room or main desk. The stairs are much closer, but are quite steep. So if you have mobility issues, you had best speak of them when you book a room.

From the time we met Michelle Murphy until several days after our visit, we received the very best service. She listened carefully and delivered! Our corner room was so airy and nicely decorated.
This is a very old hotel and furnished in antiques. Prepare to step back in history!
The location right on Main Street is perfect with several block one can stroll and shop.
The Norman Rockwell Museum was our reason for coming to Stockbridge. This is one of the best museum for learning about this illustration artist..learning his history and seeing all the wonderful magazine covers he did. A visit to his studio is so interesting and it's a pleasant walk to get there.
The café serves lunch and when we were there one of the little boys who Rockwell painted was doing autographs...of course he is in his 70's now!!
This location, Stockbridge is a great place to start a Fall foliage excursion.

Thank you for your review. I’m delighted to hear that your group enjoyed working with Michelle; she is a true asset to our team. Every guest room and function space at The Red Lion Inn is different from the next and Michelle is amazing at listening to our guests needs and doing her very best to surpass their expectations. If you enjoy Norman Rockwell’s art, then a stroll along our hallways is a must since we have one of the largest private collections in the United States of this classic Americana artist prints and a few originals displayed proudly though out our main building. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it may be interesting to know that our Rockwell table in the back of our Main Dining Room is called such because this was the table used in his famous Thanksgiving painting “Freedom from Want”. We consider ourselves lucky to be steeped in so much local history and to have the opportunity to preserve this for future generations to enjoy.

What an amazing hotel. I only stayed here a couple of nights, but wished I could have stayed longer.
My room was like a fairytale kingdom. Beautiful seating area, bedroom and stunning bathroom.
The hotel has so much to see around every corner.
The breakfast and service are both exceptional.
I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in my room, but you can’t have it all.
You can enjoy a nice open fire on the lobby or some entertainment next door in the evenings.
I didn’t eat dinner here, but some in my group did and loved it.
The Red Lion is well situated to see all the surrounding area and easy to get to nearby places.
Would return in a shot.
