“Nice enough, well run”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

This Fairfield inn was renovated rather than built from scratch (I assume), which meant there were limitations they couldn't overcome. So it's not as nice a facility as most Fairfield Inns I've seen. I was impressed, though, that everywhere I looked in the room, breakfast room, and fitness room, it was clear that someone had paid a lot of attention to getting the details right. So often it's obvious that nobody tested the setup -- at this hotel they did. I appreciated that. And as a bonus, someone cleaned the snow off the cars in the parking lot!

There are a couple of things about our room that I would fix. One is that the fancy clocks that are spreading through the industry are like sleeping with a light on. If you cover the clock to get the room nice and dark, you can't see what time it is, of course. And our room was in the front by one of the spotlights that light up the building exterior. It was hard to get the curtains arranged so that didn't shine in.

We would definitely stay there again; it was a very convenient location for us.

This hotel felt like an inn, and was more charming than any of the other spots I've stayed in this area. The rooms were clean and very spacious, staff very friendly, breakfast was a nice way to start the day, and being a Marriott property was a plus. Definitely a great place with local charm and not just like every other chain. I would stay again when in the area.

Room Tip: I would recommend a room away from the highway side (odd numbers), as it was a bit loud when sleepin...

My wife and I wanted to go to Boston to visit my niece, but didn't want to stay in the city because the hotel rooms were too expensive. We were looking for a hotel that was moderately price and close to a "T" station. After reading tons of reviews of mediocre hotels that seemed overpriced, we found the Fairfield Inn. We were not disappointed. The hotel staff were very friendly. Our room was quite comfortable. We did ask for a room in the back, which probably cut down on some of the street noise. The location of the hotel was also great. It was not too far from a "T" station. The hotel also offers a free breakfast, which was fine. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Make sure that you get a room in the back of the building because the front of the building faces a...

Our first idea was to book a hotel in Boston but since we were travelling around New England we decided to stay outside and then travel into the city for the day. This hotel suited our purpose exactly, somewhere that was comfortable and clean and good value. We were staying at Sudbury for the last 2 nights of our two week vacation in New England because of its proximity to Boston and the airport. The Inn was better than we expected, the room we had at the side of the building overlooking the car park and entrance was large even by American standards (we are British so we are constantly surprised by American hotel rooms). The Inn offered just what we wanted, an excellent room and a free hot breakfast. We thought there might have been a bar but this did not matter because there is an excellent restaurant (Bullfinch's) just two or three minutes walk away where there is a very nice bar and an excellent meal waiting for you. We chose Sudbury only because it was a pleasant looking place outside Boston, there is not a lot to see there except the Longfellow Inn, the old water mill and church. But since we were using Sudbury as a base for a visit to Boston it was ideal. We found that the nearest Subway Station was only about 25 mins away at Riverside with ample parking which costs $6 for the day, our return tickets only cost $3 each, a lot cheaper than taking the car into the city we think!
So this is a good place to stay if you are wanting a short visit to the city.

Room Tip: We were given a room overlooking the entrance and car park in the centre. This room was bigger than...

This is a nice little place in the middle of a beautiful wooded area. A remodeled old building that has all the old world charm. Rooms are good size and recently remodeled. Personnel at this hotel are helpful, a special mention for the lady in the breakfast room, she is so nice and helpful, always willing to see what she can do for you. The only two problems (one of them significant) I encounter were a) The TVs are not HD and they have a poor (at best) channel selection and, b) Traffic can be terrible especially in the mornings. It takes anywhere from 35 to 55 minutes to travel a few miles, there don't seem to be alternate routes.

If you travel a lot, you know the feeling. You end a long day and pull into yet another unknown chain hotel. Who knows what you will find? Wait, you do. It's a chain hotel. This experience was a great surprise. The staff was hospitable. The room was larger and more up-to-date than I expected. And the great sushi restaurant down the road was a bonus. Sudbury is far from a hotbed of activity, but I had a nice 18 hr stay.

A great value in a upscale neighborhood. My room was larger than expected, even a Keurig coffee maker in my room. Bedding was great which gave me a great nights sleep. Internet service was free and fast.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor and walk into your rooms hallway from the back parking lot.
