“An absolute delight”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

The Blue Heron can always be counted on for a creative and seasonal menu, and a wonderfully relaxing evening. It is absolutely something special the likes of which can't be found in nearby busy Northampton. Their meals have never disappointed, and they have a large wine selection complemented by creative cocktails. I highly recommend the Blue Heron.

“Nice Evening; Always Hopeful”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Tried this acclaimed restaurant again; It really was better than last time, but again not great.
My wife loves tried and proven offerings, whereas I m,ost often finding myself ordering something more complex and always expecting great results.
They used to offer pupa de peace, but now offer a fish dish with red sauce. I hoped for their old version which gave me a fish stem with lots of broth.
Oh well, maybe they will learn to stay with what they used to do well.

“This is a must try”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

If you're in the area and looking for something special try the Blue Heron. This is not your "run of the mill" restaurant. Nearly everything on the menu is prepared in non-traditional ways with interesting sauces and food pairing. A good example is the fried oysters. They're perfectly fried and come with a very interesting sauce instead of the same old tarter sauce. Fried oysters on your burger??? try that some time! Even the drinks are hand crafted and usually a little different that the standard "off the menu" cocktails you may be used to. I really like the staff. They've always been good and efficient. They make it a point to get their vegetables from the local farmers when available. The only negative is the cost is a little high but you get what you pay for.

“Probably the best restaurant in the Pioneer Valley”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

The Blue Heron is classy, with good food, fine wines and gracious staff. It is in a unique and classy setting in a small town just off route 91. But you really do need reservations even mid week.
