Ballston Beach is one of my favorite places to go for just soaking up the view and taking photographs. The huge "bumps" or hills among the dunes are very distinctive. Unfortunately, the ocean has broken through, but the dunes are still there. The house in one of Edward Hopper's famous paintings of Cape Cod sits right to the left of the walkway to the beach. The surf is beautiful and the vistas are amazing. However, Ballston Beach is a Truro town beach and you cannot use it during the summer season without a resident sticker. So, when you are on the Cape off-season, make sure you plan a visit - it is worth the effort.
