“Thought I'd died and went to heaven”

A cliché but so appropriate. Perhaps it was the fog that was rolling in from the sea but boy oh boy, how beautiful can a beach be! The white wide beach, soft sand, and dunes, Cape Cod beach homes, a couple walking their dog, great enough to paint or just remember forever. Sea was really rough when we were there (mid-morning in May). Not a swimming beach, more for lolling around and enjoying the view.

“One of a Kind Beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

Ballston Beach is one of my favorite places to go for just soaking up the view and taking photographs. The huge "bumps" or hills among the dunes are very distinctive. Unfortunately, the ocean has broken through, but the dunes are still there. The house in one of Edward Hopper's famous paintings of Cape Cod sits right to the left of the walkway to the beach. The surf is beautiful and the vistas are amazing. However, Ballston Beach is a Truro town beach and you cannot use it during the summer season without a resident sticker. So, when you are on the Cape off-season, make sure you plan a visit - it is worth the effort.

“Great Beach”

Beautiful dunes with Hoperesque houses in distance. Wide, flat sand. Good walks in either direction (North is nude). Good shells after storms.
