“Pink Khmer Castle”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Situated on top of Ex- volcano Burirum area Hill; There are 2 enter way in and out ;
The normal entrance which had small pararell column lead to a climbing staircase to the main castle.

The other way which our driver drove us in is the back of temple where twisted road made a steep 45 degree angular.

The main temple itself made by pink sandstone. there are many interesting section inside area / Apsara sculpter / Carving tympanum door-column / library / stunning main pagoda area / the SIWA replica statue. etc.

“Popular Park At Interesting Khmer Ruins”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Apparently some of the best examples of Khmer arcitecture in Thailand this is a very beautiful and interesting site. It's only 100 Baht entry for farang and you can get a combi-ticket for 150 baht to see Prasat Hin Mueang which is the sister site just 2-3 miles down the road. We hired a car as the site is about 1 hours drive south of Buriram city centre though it's quite easy to find and well sign posted.

We went on the last day of Songkran and it was very busy, the car parks were quite full and there were hundreds of tourist milling about. As well as the park and ruins there's a small museum with some interesting artefacts and information (in English) and nearby there's quite a few eateries where you can get a meal. Well worth a visit if you're in Buriram province!

“Interested in Khmer architecture.....”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

....this is the best there is in Thailand, with most of the still standing structure maintained and preserved. Great photographic opportunities but a little hard to get too, however, if you do,will be worth it. Can get crowded and as always, choose the time of day to avoid the Isaan heat.

This ancient Khmer ruin is in a beautiful location on top of an extinct volcano and the grounds are immaculate. In addition, there is a free museum that has great exhibits with English translations. The temple itself has been restored, but is mostly intact with original carvings featuring the Ramayana. Dedicated to Shiva, it is worth a visit just for its historical and cultural significance. Built along the lines of Angkor Wat, and by a distant relative of the designer, it is an architectural marvel. One of the best temples I've seen and well-worth the 100 BHT admission charge. Go early!
