We were disappointed by our late lunch/early dinner experience there. We ordered 4 sushi orders and 3 chinese dishes.
The sushi rolls that came without seaweed but rice papers were on a quite cheap side; the sushi rice was cold and not bound together. They were definitely overpriced and disappointing.
The Chinese dishes came in smaller portions but tasted tad bit better than Japanese types we had. (The owners and staff are young Chinese folks!)
The stark glare from dark interior and poor lighting reminded me of 1990s drinking salon bars. The ambience was as disappointing as our taste experience.
The service could be much better. The staff were eager to help but they should pay attention harder, and, more friendly to get good % of tips.
For example, they shouldn't fold napkins at the next table to ours. They also talked to each other loudly over our tables.
And, the staff smoked at the entrance door outside and chill air created draft to the kitchen side. We unfortunately had to endure the cigarette smell while eating our dishes feeling cold.
We felt as if we sat in a food court in a high trafficked shopping mall. Cold, distracting, crude, and disappointing foods.
But I praise that they remained open in the past winter, and that is a big commitment unlike the summer ice cream, fudge, souvenir stores. This will become the great destination for the year round residents IF they improve these;
Hospitality, followed by their authenc dishes, and, their professional waiting service, then warm ambience that matches their mid-high price tags.
I hope they listen and work harder to strive long.
