Sandy Neck Barrier Beach
Reviewed 2 September 2012

It's very long, with few people, and nice dunes nearby
August weather is perfect there
Parking was $15 for the day

The beach is all rocks no sand and it is freezing! There is no place to rent beach supplies and no place to do anything! you can lay down unless you get stabbed by a rock. Don't go there! My whole family didn't like it!

We rented a boat and went to Sandy Neck during high tide. Plan on staying a while as the tide goes out. It is like a foootball field appears in the middle of the ocean. Too much fun for kids and adults

Looking for massive stretches of clean, sandy beaches, a great beach for kids to build sandcastles and beautiful views in every direction? Then Sandy Neck is the beach for your family. We took our son to this beach and had the best day of our entire two week vacation on the Cape. I can't speak highly enough of this gorgeous site.

of a beach. Miles of beach to walk and a wonderful marsh trail that takes you through dunes and past rustic cottages. This is an amazing dune system on the upper Cape. Off road vehicles are allowed with a permit.

I would recommend enjoying a nice walk on the beach and part of the marsh trail. You can pick up a map at the gate house. We started our walk from the pavilion and turned at trail head number 1 from the beach onto the marsh trail and turned back on the beach at the trail 2 junction. This walk took us through dunes and past several cottages. Remember you will be walking through sand so it is more difficult than it looks, bring lots of water and enjoy the day.

The park is free until memorial day and after 3:30 in high season.
