Went there today, 4/12/14 and the food was great. Met my sister for a late lunch/early dinner. The portions are good and the prices match. All around good.
The only thing holding them back from an Excellent rating was the staffs attention deficit. The Greeter was more interested in checking out guys and our waitress walked away as we were explaining things.

Two of us visited on a Thursday evening. While it is one of their famed prime rib nights, the wait at 7 pm wasn't bad at all. Our orders were prompt and pretty good..... not superb, but no complaints, other than not receiving the cole slaw which the menu clearly stated came with the rack of ribs, along with 2 sides. And then when the waitress did bring it (at my urging), it came not in a small saucer as the other sides had, but rather in a teeny, tiny disposable cup, just like the ones that Wendy's puts out to pump your catsup into! Why bother?! Still and all, it was a good-enough Thursday night supper.
What really fried me, however, was the manager's reaction to my telling him that an elderly gentleman had just fallen on the floor. We were seated towards the back beyond the bar, where the booths are elevated some 4 or 5 inches above the regular floor. This gentleman was seated in the booth opposite us, and when he went to get up, he obviously forgot that there was a small step down. He lost his balance and went sprawling across the walkway between the rows of booths, hitting his head on the edge of another table. Three individuals from the 3 booths nearest him rose to assist him to his feet. The dear man was so upset by his fall that he asked to be just left alone and sat there on the floor, composing himself until he felt well enough to rise. Then he sat back down in his booth with his dining partner (wife perhaps?) and they spoke to one another for about 5 mins. until he had regained his equilibrium and composure. Then they slowly made their way to the exit. As soon as they were again in the walkway heading in the other direction, the floor manager swooped in and started clearing their table. I got his attention and pointing to the couple, explained that the dear man had just taken a fall right there on the floor. This beast got the most gleefully evil look on his face and with a twisted smile he said, "Oh, really?' and then he resumed clearing the table!! I was stunned. I realize that we live in an extremely litigious society, but what does it say about us when we cannot even inquire if the man is OK upon learning that he had just taken a spill? We will not be back, just on principle. Karma's a b-----, and someday he, too, will be old and unsteady on his feet.

We always enjoy dining at Boston Tavern. The food is fresh and the service us typically very good. A relatively good value for the money. Only issue is popularity as you should count on a wait for dinner Thursday - Sunday.

Fun atmosphere but the wait is too long. Don't go if you are hungry because you are bound to wait up to an hour or more.
