“Awesome Breakfast Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014 via mobile

Anytime you visit a place that the local municipal workers frequent and has a line out the door you know it is good. Simple menu with all the classic breakfast fare. Awesome homemade bread in many varieties and a very diner like atmosphere where people meet. Locals and vacationers frequent this place more validation of how good it is! And last but not least the owner waits tables! Love it!

“a good little find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014

We went to the Good Friends Cafe for the first time on a rainy Saturday morning and were surprised to see a packed parking lot...but always a good sign. This cafe did not disappoint. Everyone was extremely friendly and service was extremely prompt...we barely sat down before coffees were in hand! The waitstaff were very accommodating to our two young children. We tried the cranberry apple grilled bread...fantastic! We will definitely come back to this place.

“Best breakfast.......in the world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014 via mobile

I preface my claims by saying I'm a larger gentleman. I enjoy a breakfast or two. You should know that my recommendation is basically a guarantee. Go here. Get the grilled bread. I can't describe it adequately but it is a taste sensation you will never forget. You can't go wrong here. Just awesome friendly people. This is the only breakfast place I'll eat at down the cape. Why are you still reading? Go!

“Try it, you'll like it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014

Surfed the Web to locate a breakfast spot heading off Cape to Boston on a Sunday morning. Fortunately, we decided to try this place. There is lots of off-street parking; the restaurant itself is relatively small: there are about 4 booths and the rest of the seating is at tables. The menu is impressive: lots of variety and many choices, including breakfast staples: pancakes, omelettes, Belgian waffles, eggs cooked any style (your choice), home fries, homemade hash . . . Their homemade, grilled breads are served thick-sliced with whipped butter; we tried the cranberry apple: it was dee-lish! All items are reasonably priced. The service is very friendly and efficient. We noticed that if a server had poured coffee refills at their own station, he/she would pour refills at other server's stations, if needed, on the way back to the kitchen to replace the pot. Nice. Our server must have mentioned to the owner that it was our first visit because she stopped by our table near the end of the meal to chat: 'How was your food? I heard this is your first time here; hope you'll be back'. I replied that the meal was wonderful & although we were not from the area, we'd definitely return when we come back to the Cape. The decor is simple, but "homey." I suspect that there is a long wait during the season since the restaurant was crowded today when it is off-season (many places are closed) and it was raining heavily. It may be worth your wait . . . we know it would be worth our wait! Just go and enjoy.
