Traveled with 2 kids glad we had picked 2 bed suite with fireplace.
Very nice rooms, clean, extremely friendly staff, kids friendly pool, decent breakfast.
Really impressed with cleanness of the rooms. They do great job.
Young man on front desk is very pleasant.
Would stay again at this hotel!

We had a pleasant stay at the Residence Inn in W. Springfield.
Our room was a one bedroom queen. -- The bedroom itself was very small ... but adequate for sleep.
The living area was fine.
This was typical of a Residence in as far as the full kitchen...etc.
It was clean and adequately stocked with plates/silverware...etc. Full size coffee maker.
The BEST part of this hotel was the staff! Everyone was wonderful.
A young man named Nick checked us in that evening and he was extremely nice!
He went above and beyond to meet our needs. Kudos Residence Inn for hiring this young man!!! He is a keeper~~~

Room Tip: If you reserve a one bedroom queen ... the sink area is outside the toilet/shower part of the bathro...

My husband and I travel frequently and often stay at Residence Inn locations as they are pet friendly. We have stayed at this particular location previously and also had reservations booked later this month. However after this weekend, those reservations have been cancelled.

I do want to note that the room was very clean and the staff was extremely welcoming to us as return guests at this hotel.

While we usually stay in the 1 bedroom suite, on this weekend we elected to upgrade to the 2 bedroom suite which was quite roomy, attractively laid out and the gas fireplace added a nice touch. However, the amenities did little to compensate for the problems encountered during our stay.

Security. Traveling with our dog requires occasional trips outside. On Friday evening while walkiing our dog (without my husband) an intoxicated individual stumbled from the parking lot and relieved himself adjacent to where we were walking. On Saturday early evening again on a walk, one vehicle was occupied by people having cocktail hour in the parking lot. Not a great atmosphere to say the least.

Noise. The bedrooms in our room were situated directly over a side exit door and from 4AM on Saturday morning (when some guests began to exit the hotel), it was nearly impossible to sleep with the door banginig shut. We finally dozed off at 5:30AM only to be awakened again at 6AM by a wake up call, THAT WE DID NOT ORDER. Management apologized for the mixup.

On Saturday we returned to our room at 4PM. The noise from the room above made it impossible to even watch TV. When we inquired to the front desk we were told "Oh that's the birthday party". Apparently this Residence Inn markets the 2 bedroom suites as function rooms. At 10:20PM when the noise had not lessened, we packed up, left the hotel and drove home. After speaking to the front desk, we were not charged for Saturday night.

Have stayed here myself several times, and also have had family stay when I was out of room at home. Love the location, right off the highway and all the amenities. Residence Inns seem to be very consistent and I try to stay at them whenever on the road - Asheville, NC and more!

Thanks for a clean, well run operation!!

Stayed here for two nights the first week of March and the hotel, the staff, and the room were great. The staff make you feel right at home and I loved the way the room is set up like a studio. There was a well maintained indoor pool and hot tub. I enjoyed the fresh cookies and coffee when I checked in and the complimentary dessert event the first night.
I read the previous reviewer's comments about their experience with the children's birthday party and totally agree. Call ahead and check to see if there are any children's parties or sporting events during your stay. If there are, get a room on a higher floor.
It is really unfortunate that parents allow small children to run throughout a hotel without supervison and joyride on the elevators. I couldn't believe the chaos these children were causing. Some children entertained themselves by jumping up and down in the room above us and running like a herd of cattle up and down the stairs. Day and night!! I called the front desk and they did attempt to quiet things down that night after 10PM but it started right back up at 6AM the next morning and woke me up.
The breakfast the first day was lovely but the next morning the kids ran wild as the parents sat and drank coffee. These parents treated the hotel like it was their own homes with no consideration for other guests. I really felt sorry for the hotel staff as it wasn't just one family, it was basically all of them, and hard to control.
The staff did make amends for this poor experience and I give them credit for that. I will stay at this hotel again as I really like Marriott Hotels.

Our rating would have been much higher however, we had a big problem with noise. As far as the room, we stayed on the ground floor, the room was very comfortable although it needs maintenance. The kitchen cabinet doors under the sink were nearly falling off its hinges and overall, the kitchenette was in need of new cabinetry. Apparently there was a children's birthday party occurring on the second floor, the banging, jumping similar to having a gymnasium over your head. After no less than 4 calls and two in-person visits to the front desk, the party finally ended, hence the noise at approximately 11:00 PM. Our first call to the front desk resulted in the response that we must be mistaken, denial almost that any noise was taking place! Of course, the chaperones of the party above were completely inconsiderate, and informed the front desk that no such noise was occurring. The noise worsened as the children were running up & down the stairwell (across and down from our room) into the lower halls to access the indoor pool. We must assume that other ground floor rooms were complaining because my husband was forced to call the front desk three more times as it sounded as if the kids were coming through the ceiling. He was told that they would send the supervisor to the party rooms again and again and the party was supposedly ending soon. We were told after one of the calls that if the noise above did not cease the hotel would call the police, yet it continued and continued. After the last visit to the front desk we have been told that our room would be comped along with additional points applied to our rewards stay. Staff were very friendly, maybe the front desk girl was told to ignore the complaints and her hands were tied until the party ended, who knows? Very poor signage to hotel tucked back and away from Rt. 5, we drove past several times before finding the hotel. I would try the hotel again in the hopes that the second time is a charm.

Room Tip: One never knows if a party will be going on so book a high floor room to avoid any overhead noise as...
