“Something for everyone”
Reviewed 8 October 2011

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Green Harbor. My husband and I had a Cape Codder for 2 and it was the perfect size. Not only did we have a great water view, but we had a large deck with chairs and a picnic table to use. That really made our living space seem much larger.
Our unit was spotlessly clean and well equipped for cooking. The property does not have a restaurant on the premises, but there are many great restaurants on Highway 28 as well as a large grocery store within a 10 minute drive. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom just big enough for 2.
We went to the beach, used the beach chairs, rode bicycles, rowed a canoe and relaxed on our deck. This is a great place for relaxing and getting away from it all.
The location is pretty much right in the middle of Cape Cod, which allowed us to take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard from Woods Hole and travel all the way to Provincetown. I feel as if the central location allowed us to see all of Cape Cod very easily.

You were fortunate to be here this year for our unusually warm October "summer weather." We close on Columbus Day each year, but as you discovered, Fall is a great time to experience Green Harbor's amenities, as well as the Cape Cod and Islands activities. We do answer the phone year 'round, so give us a call when you plan a return trip to our area. Thank you for writing. We had a two night stay at this wonderful place. It was our first visit to Cape Cod and the central location was perfect. It was just the right distance from Route 28 - far enough away to enjoy the seclusion, but close enough to get to restaurants and attractions. Our one bedroom townhome was spotlessly clean and the view from the bedroom window was breathtaking! The staff was friendly and helpful. The beach was great! There are so many different accommodations to choose from that there is surely something for everyone! We truly wish we could have stayed longer. We have already recommended it to others and will definitely stay there again during any future visits to the area!

Room Tip: The one bedroom townhome does have "steep" steps to the bedroom, but the view from the bed...

You are correct ... two nights is not long enough to see all that Cape Cod has to offer. We are appreciative that you are sharing your Green Harbor vacation experience with your friends.
Our larger three and four bedroom houses are great for a group of family or friends to gather, or if you prefer the oceanfront townhouse that you stayed in this year, we will gladly welcome you back for a return visit. Thanks again, Janice at the Green Harbor front desk

We stayed here for 3 nights in Sept 2010. We liked it so much, we came back for a week in one of their cape codders for 4. It is so nice to find a quiet base for all the things you like to do on the Cape. We will be back, for sure.

You are now an official repeat guest ! There are lots of places to explore on Cape Cod, and as a 40 year resident, I still haven't found them all. You are correct in saying that Green Harbor is a great central location where you can start the day with a homemade breakfast in your fully equipped kitchen, and return home for an afternoon swim in the heated pool before dinner. Green Harbor in W.Yarmouth was perfect for our family vacation. Very clean. Quiet and tucked away from the busy rt.28. My daughter loved the playground which was conveniently located right on the beach. She kept busy between swimming, swinging, sliding, and building sand castles. Maybe this would be annoying to some, but there were lots of planes flying by while we were there and my daughter really enjoyed that. The staff also helped us out with lending us a large pot to cook lobster- also providing crackers and bags for the shells and extra roll of paper towells.

Thank you for sharing your GH vacation experience. The airport traffic is wind dependent, and yes, the young children enjoy watching the small planes flying over the ocean. It is not always easy to anticipate the needs of every guest, but we pay close attention to requests and comments so that we are prepared for most situations. We hope to welcome you back in 2012. Well insulated from the Route 28 traffic and tired motels, this friendly well run, well taken care of facility on Lewis Bay is a marvelous place to spend an August week. A small quiet beach, roomy facilities and a heated pool complete matters.

Green Harbor is very nice but somewhat isolated, somewhat dated and very family oriented which didn't fit our needs. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Great beach access, ability to use bikes was nice but town is a few miles away.

Thank you for your comments. Each of the five Red Jacket Resorts on Cape Cod offers a variety of rooms and amenities for both families and couples. A phone call to our Central Reservation office will allow you to "comparison shop" between the different properties. Perhaps as a couple you would enjoy a riverside room at the Red Jacket Beach where there is a spa and lounge, as well as the beach, pools and watersports. The " stay at one resort and use the amenities at all " is a plus to remember when choosing the property that best suits your needs. The "family" atmosphere is less obvious in the Fall, when more couples tend to visit, the rates are lower and the weather is still warm enough to enjoy the beach and pool. Thank you again for sharing. Janice @ the Green Harbor front desk

We had been recommended the Red Jackets Resort and after looking on the internet at the four resorts in Cape Cod, we chose the one which we believed looked the most unspoilt and quietest. How right we were and we had the most wonderfuly 10 days there (staying on an extra two nights because we enjoyed it so much). The accommodation has the most wonderful views and the private beach is totally unspoilt. Our two bedroom and two bathroom apartment was spotlessly clean and was cleaned daily by the most charming members of staff. The other members of staff were equally cheerful and helpful -one member in particular was very happy to blow up my son's new football and show him how to throw an American football properly. My children loved the freedom of being able to go to the bike shed and cycle around (not something they can do on the streets of London at home!). The kids club each morning was a great success and the activities and staff brilliant with my two sons aged 6 and 8 years. In the afternoon old fashioned games like crab racing and sandcastle competitions were held.

The pool is a great temperature and deep (may not be suitable for babies or toddlers though).

The resort is private, peaceful and quiet in the evenings and very different to the other Red Jacket resorts in Cape Cod which cater more for young families and seem busier and noisier.

We will definitely return. A great find!

Thank you for sharing your Green Harbor vacation experience. We like to think that our location is far enough away from the "hustle and bustle" of the main roads, yet close enough that the ride to restaurants and shopping is not a vacation spoiler. The resort activities are geared to children of all ages... even the adults enjoy the mini-golf and bikes and cheering on a racing hermit crab. Not only is Green Harbor a great place to visit, it is also a great place to work, especially since we meet families from all over the world. It will be our pleasure to have you as returning guests.
