“Good location and clean room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2013

Stayed there for a weekend in September and it is conveniently located in the center of Cape Cod. Very close to a lot of restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and good size, although seemed to be little bit outdated. Would not mind staying there again if in the area because of the very reasonable rates. Also, the breakfast place at the hotel was quite good, would recommend try it out even if didn't stay at the property.

Thank you for your review. Even though our hotel is older and somewhat dated, we do offer rooms that have been more updated with new bedding and carpeting overlooking the picnic area and Mill Pond. They do cost a bit more but offer a different experience. Glad you enjoy your visit and hope to see you again when you visit the Cape.

The only negative we have come across in our years of staying at the Tidewater Inn is the parking. After being out all day, the last thing we want to do is park far away from our building and walk. This happened to us every night because all of the spots in front of our building were full.

So sorry that you had trouble parking in front of your room. It must have been peak season because we have such a large parking lot that there's usually no problem with parking. We are so glad that you are one of our regulars and thank you for choosing the Tidewater when you visit the Cape. See you soon.

I have stayed at the Tidewater Inn for years in the off season - spring and fall. The rooms have always been clean and we love the hot tub & pool. When we call we are given a room by the door - I'm handicapped and that's a great help with walking to & from the car (and to the hot tub!). All the staff have been very helpful. Once in a while something is broken and we call and it's taken care of right away.

I recommend the Tidewater very highly - a great value for the money.

Room Tip: Get a room in the back building, which houses the pool, hot tub, and (seasonal) restaurant. If it...

Stayed at the Tidewater Inn the weekend after Labor Day for the second year in a row. The rooms are older and basic, but have all the ammenities you need (fridge, iron). The grounds are beautiful. Indoor and outdoor pools, beautiful yard area for picnics. Location is great. Close to everything. Beaches, bars, restraunts, shopping all near by. We'll be back next year !!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate your choosing to stay at the Tidewater when you visit the Cape. While our property is a bit older, to are constantly making improvements to the property to improve our guests' experience. Our waterview rooms overlooking Mill Pond and the picnic area are more recently renovated and a very peaceful area to stay with the private balconies or patios. Looking forward to you next visit.

Charles is a great asset. Room very clean. Had 72, a handicapped room. Lots of room. Quiet. Highly recommend. A great value. W have been coming here for several years and never been disappointed. If you have a problem getting internet from the room, you can always use the computer in the lobby which they supply. The mid-cape location is very convenient.

Room Tip: The rear building is best with its accessability to indoor pool and the breakfast room. An indoor co...

Thank you for taking time to write a review. Charles is certainly an asset to the Tidewater and provides superior customer service and a wealth of recommendations to guests. So glad you enjoyed your visit again...we love our regulars. We have strengthened our WIFI so you should have no problem with a signal in the future. Hope to see you again when you visit the Cape.

Upon entering the room, it seemed like most "average" hotel rooms. It was a bottom floor room, small but clean and I have to admit, I was impressed with the size of the bathroom. King size bed was adequate and the tv was tiny but all in all...okay for the money spent. The problems began at 4:00 am when some crazy woman started yelling profanities outside my sliding glass door. She apparently knew the couple "staying" in the room above us and was not happy that one of the people was her husband! She continued screaming and using foul language for quite some time as well as trying to stack chairs outside my door to climb the balcony. At some point, someone let her in the building (I assume, her husband) so the noise just got worse and quite frankly, it was very scary. I did not know if she had a weapon and just wanted her out. I tried to call the front desk several times but the phone just kept beeping...couldn't reach the desk OR get an outside line. Thank God for cell phones! I then reached the police who promptly handled the matter.

I do understand that this incident was not the fault of the hotel however, it wasn't mine either....and I paid to stay there. The phone not working was a bad sign and when I informed the desk clerk about what had happened the next morning, I got nothing more than an apology. Anything would have been nice...a refund, a free future stay, heck even a complimentary breakfast at the hotel's diner...oh wait...THAT wasn't even open...on a Sunday no less. Not a good way to end an anniversary trip (should have stayed where we were, in Provincetown).

I would have given a little higher rating if the phone worked and the staff was accommodating. Honestly, even if they had offered a free night, I'm not sure I would have used it but it would have shown me that the hotel cared enough about their customers to see that they are happy. No problem Tidewater Inn...but we will not be returning.

I truly apologize for your experience. The disturbance did happen, but we didn't find out until the following morning when guests were checking out. We give every guest who checks in a welcome letter with the extension of the overnight staff in case there is a problem after the office closes. Guests do call this number if they need anything after hours, but unfortunately, on this evening nobody called. A guest did call the police and the woman was escorted out of the hotel. This is not something that happens at the hotel, but it appears as if the wife found out her husband was at the hotel with another woman. First thing in the morning, we asked the guest to leave and placed him on our "do not rent" list. We would love to have you give us another try so that you can see that this disturbance was not the norm at our hotel. Feel free to give me a call at 508-775-6322 for a complimentary future stay. In addition, the diner was open the normal weekend hours from 7am to 11am on Sunday.
