“Tube Park Review Only”
Reviewed 18 February 2014 via mobile

We had a great time! This was a spur of the moment trip on a Saturday afternoon in high season, so probably maximally crowded. However, the tubing park entry (separate from the ski area) was easy to find and the parking lot had plenty of room. 20-25 minutes' wait to get tubing passes, which was the most annoying part of the whole day, & you would think they would have staffed more than one window. However, once we got past that, everything was great. Between the wait for the lifts and the wait at the top, the kids averaged 1 trip down the tubing slope every 10 minutes. There is a wooden observation platform strategically placed between the two tubing hills. I read multiple reviews about rude personnel, but in my experience all the staff were quite nice, even when my 5-year-old accidentally let his tube go down the hill without him AND did the same thing with the replacement they gave him. My 10-year-old got reprimanded once, but he deserved it (walking across someone else's lane). For $30/person for 2 hours, I would say this is a fun "once in a while" treat. The lodge is located across the parking lot from the tube slope, so you really can't keep an eye on your kids from there. It was very crowded and not relaxing; we did not buy any food there, because the prices were not so good--$6 for a hot dog, $18 for a pizza. However, the bathrooms were reasonably clean.

“Group fun in the snow”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

Went tubing there with a group of co-workers on a Saturday morning. We had a lot of fun. We never had to wait too long to go up however we often had to wait several minutes at the top before it was our turn. All in all I'd recommend it if you are with a small group who wants to do a fun activity together. It's not cheap for 2 hours (and given that we probably went down 7 times during that time) but can be a lot of fun.

“Tubing Park”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

We had a great time with a family group of 16. We went on a Saturday afternoon (4:30-6:30).
It is $30 for 2 hours on a weekend, holiday or vacation week. I felt like 2 hours was enough time. We could probably have done a couple of more runs but did not feel like we hadn't done enough either. As far as I saw, the employees are all older teens. Some were friendly and helpful, others not so much. None were anything to complain about and those at the top work very hard. There should be more staff at the top. Staff in the bar/snack area were very slow, physically very slow.
The experience was great and we will probably go again sometime. The tow back up is slow but sure beats walking. I was worried about a crowd on the weekend after a snowy week but they were manageable and the lines moved quickly.
The snack house is warm as well as the restrooms and the water which was appreciated.

“Lessons could be so much better”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

This is a very hit or miss experience. Both of my kids have participated in this multi-week program spanning 8 years. However here is what they could do to make the program 100x better:

1) Don't book the lessons back to back....the volume of people dropping off and picking up all shoved in a small area with ski gear - kids-parents etc. is not only annoying it is very unsafe! They have signs posted suggesting that you tell your kids where to meet you. However, you really can't expect a young kid to remember or even be able to see you given the number of people there. Additionally it is dark when many of your lessons are out making it even harder and a major safety risk.

2) You have very young staff - I understand that it is more cost effective however you need to train them to look alive and ready to greet parents and get kids settled into the lesson vs. standing with their back to the families and chatting with each other.

3)Have parents complete an on-line survey of their child's ability level before they arrive. One of the biggest problems with the program is how often you miss the mark on assessment and grouping student who are often at very different levels. I have talked with several other parents who have had the same experience. Obviously a survey is not going to be a perfect measure - but it is a place to start - then do the in person test.

Overall, this is a good location and sometimes the kids are grouped right and things work out ok. However, there are issues that I have seen year in and year out that could be fixed and really improve the program.

“Good for night skiing”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

Night skiing here is perfect as you have the place pretty much to yourself with no lines at the lift & they groom the trails throughout the evening. It is a small place, but it's great for families that live nearby, and is perfect for practicing form and technique for those looking to become better skiers. Also, the ski instructors are very good at helping you to focus on improving even the most minute flaw in how you ski. We ski pretty well, but my wife and I decided to take a 6 week course (every Sunday evening for 1 hour) to see where we can improve. Everyone can improve no matter how advanced. Instructors Michael & Jessica are just great, and we only paid $159 for 6 weekly lesson of an hour each lesson, and this includes night skiing from 5-10pm. It's beautifully out up, and the lodge/restaurant is nicer than many in NH.
