Stopped in one night during Restaurant Week. The selections for the menu were great, very pleased that it wasn't such a limited menu like other restaurants do. I ordered the mussels (too salty), the gnocchi (didn't like the flavor), and the apple strudel (the best part of the meal!). My party all ordered something different, and I personally think the pork chop with the polenta was the star of the night. Also very much enjoyed the dark chocolate bread pudding.

We sat right near the kitchen so you can see the food coming out and the lengths the food runners/chefs go to make a beautiful presentation. It was a busy night so our waitress did not come by much, but it's like she was able to read our minds--she was always one step ahead of us when we were just about to ask for something (extra fork, dessert menu). Very pleased with the service.

Overall, ambiance was very cozy. Great for dates. There is a little sitting area/lounge right when you walk in, great for those who want to stop in for a drink and enjoy the apps. Highly recommended if you are looking for something unique and upscale in the suburbs.

Had not been here before. Excellent service, great fresh food. It was our anniversary dinner and it was a nice night out. I will be back.

We've been to Chiara 5-6 times over the past few years. Initially we were wowed but each successive visit has had an increasing number of disappointments. We used to find the menu to be very varied and interesting but it seems to have been scaled back and lacking in quality of late. In the past the staff would surprise you with a small taste of something unique or experimental that the kitchen was trying. That seems to have been dropped. The previous manager was great about visiting tables, checking on customer satisfaction, and often providing tastes of wines or desserts that he though diners may like. This doesn't seem to happen anymore either.

I'll focus on our last visit. The wine list is still excellent and the selection of wines by the glass is very good. The menu was very short and no one in our part of four felt compelled by any of the entree selections. There was no entree special available. We ordered two appetizers: the steak tartar and the chicken satay skewers. The tartar was excellent; moist, flavorful and at the perfect temperature. The chicken skewers were two small skewers of chicken, were dry, and did not distinguish themselves with flavor. The accompanying couscous was not to our liking and the quantity was about two tablespoons. We ordered the Potato Gnocchi, Grilled Flat Iron Steak Frites, and Pan-Roasted Monkfish "Osso Bucco". The monk fish was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. The steak was also very good. The gnocchi was downright terrible: no distinguishing flavors and smothered in sauce (a sweet pepper foam). A very inconsistent meal.

Service that night was dreadfully slow. It was a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was approx. half full and it took over 30 minutes to bring out our entrees after we completed our appetizers. The waitress was good but never apologized for the delay. A simple apology goes a long way with us. We're very easy customers. The bill was approx. $290, which, if we had a great meal, would be fine but we left feeling disappointed. Unfortunate too because we were celebrating two birthdays.

Gluten free options - there were many options for gluten free dining and the staff seemed well trained in preparation and handling of GF foods.

We went here after friends told us how much they enjoyed this upscale place close by. We were very happy with our experience. The waiter recommended a good wine for our meals of chicken for me and scallops for Joey. The calamari was the best we have ever had and it is one of our test items, so we know calamari! The salad with an egg sitting atop was full of flavor and tastes.the meals were both very good and my creme broule was as expected. We will be back!

Everything in this restaurant is well done. From the greeter to the wait staff, the lighting, design, food and presentation, there is nothing amiss. Pleasant, unpretentious staff, lovely menu including prix fixe option, appetizers and small plates range from $5-$21, entrees $15-$30. Fabulous wines by the glass, lovely bar, delightful desserts. There is nothing not to like. Perfect.
