“This is an amazing, must-see art museum!”
Reviewed 6 January 2012

This museum was recommended by a colleague and was worth every minute I spent there. Recently reorganized, the exhibitions are thoughtfully displayed with labels that are easily understood and enriching to the experience. One exhibition was curated by the football coach- a wonderful display of art from different eras and styles- a great idea for the institution to spread the word that art is for everybody! Don't miss this gem of a museum!

“Nice college museum”
Reviewed 30 November 2011

This museum is in a cute little college town. We visited this teaching museum during the morning and the Clark Museum in the afternoon. Plenty of time to do both. And grab lunch in town. Plus it was free admission! There are a half dozen parking spots in front of the building and lots within a short walking distance. Definitely stop here if you're in the area.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 28 November 2011

I was eager to see the huge Prendergast collections, but enjoyed the other exhibits so much that when I finally reached the Prendergast galleries and learned they were closed, I still felt that I'd had a wonderful experience at this delightful museum. It's free, a manageable size, and ideally-located on the campus right off appealing, the main shopping/dining street. IIf you're in the area, go.

“Extraordinary college art museum”
Reviewed 9 November 2011

Graduated Williams in '90, somehow never ended up at this art museum until now. Breathtaking galleries, 9 or 10 of them. Chapin House is under renovation, so they are also housing original copies of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, etc. for a limited time.

“Unique re-installation”
Reviewed 1 September 2011

This art museum recently changed the method of displaying its pieces, and they are grouped around themes or questions or commonality. It is designed to get your mind working and we found it much more engaging than just pictures on a wall with minimal information. It's a pretty setting and pleasant to walk around. The museum also gives guided tours to explain some exhibits, which is a big help.
