Description: The Purple Pub has been the place to gather in Williamstown since 1973, serving lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Whether you're looking for traditional pub food or delicious entrees, we have you covered. Patrons can drink and dine at the large mahogany bar or in the comfort of the semi-private dining room. Come watch the game on one of our large screen televisions or enjoy a romantic dinner with someone special. Don't forget to try one of our 14 draft beers (we have bottled beer too), served in a frosted glass.

Williamstown is an odd town. Where most downtowns are on main street. Williamstown's shopping and pub crawling seems to be on a side street. WE found this after a visit to the Clark Museum. Outdoor seating looked nice, but peopl were playing cornhole toss near th table we could have taken. Um... no thanks, we'll eat in.

Nice table looking out at the cobblestone alley and the red brick of the Danforth Building. Waitress was attentive, and had a list of over 20 beers on tap. Baseball games on the screen all the way in back, and people watching out the front. Had a very solid burger & fries and a couple of IPAs. Burgers were $8.99 and were easily the cheapest item. Most were $12.99 including salads. Nothing fancy, but if you can;t make a good burger, what is the rest of the menu going to be like? Better burger than most all of Northampton, in my opinion. Total cost for 2 burgers and 4 beers = $46.00 Not a bank breaker, but good high ceiling atmosphere and open area to have a few cold ones with the rest of the town's daily visitors. I would return on a nice day. Maybe soon.

We go here often and have yet to be disappointed. Especially nice in summer when it's warm enough to sit outside. We all love the burgers, soups are really good, and actually we haven't been disappointed in anything on the menu. They don't rush you and welcome you back at each visit. Try it and see for yourself.

We were in Williamstown to visit the expanded Clark Arts Museum and found this place by walking in the quaint business district next to the college. I had the turkey club and my companion had a Boston Garden salad. Both were bountiful, excellently prepared, fresh ingredients, and the service was friendly and efficient. The courtyard dining was great as the weather was perfect; the interior dining room contains high top tables and booths and has plenty of space to accommodate a large gathering.
