We had read about this Mass Trustees property and went for a visit. It is just west of Route 7 and north of Route 43 south of Williamstown--you should have a map of the place before you go or use a GPS. It has two modernistic mid 20th century buildings--one is now a bed and breakfast. The other is an interesting home called "The Folly." Lovely setting, large pond and a number of walking trails around the property--trail maps are available at the kiosk. There are no facilities available--rest rooms, water, food, etc.

We arrived on a July weekday when the house was not available for touring. However, the site is a treasure in itself. A great walk, complete with fields, forest and a wide variety of wildflowers. If you go in the summer, be sure to oil-up with insect spray; they are voracious. When we visited, it was hot, hot, hot, so be sure to have a hat and sunscreen. No aha moments, but very pleasurable.

Nice for a walk or xcountry skiing in winter. Some outdoor art at the original home on site.

An old farm that was left to the Trustees of the Reservation for preservation. It was a lovely and easy afternoon of flat trail walking with kids. Very picturesque and still very rural.

This is perfect place for a hike in the woods if you'd rather not do a lot of up-hill hiking. Beautiful setting that will take you through open fields, woods, over streams, and around ponds.
