“ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL AND PEACEFUL STAY!”
Reviewed 24 April 2013

We stayed in the Barnside Suite and as soon as we walked into the room we felt like we made a great choice! The room was just as we pictured and we were pleasantly surprised as most times the pictures they show are much nicer than in person. The grounds were beautiful and very peaceful, including the brooke that runs through the property. The room is as described by other reviewers...spacious, cozy, very clean and well kept...and is quite romantic. Loved the jacuzzi and the romantic canopy bed in the suite! The food was wonderful...loved the breakfasts in such a warm and welcoming atmosphere with so much to choose from! Dinner at the restaurant was fabulous! Staff at the Inn were very helpful and pleasant, very eager to share with us all the sights and things to do in the area. All and all...had a great weekend and enjoyed it immensely. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, peaceful and romantic weekend together!

Room Tip: The Barnside Suite was perfect...with a great and spacious porch to enjoy. Very quiet!

1896 complex consists of two motel-like structures and the old barn converted into large suites. We stayed at the Barnside Inn for two nights, and loved it.
The main room is very large; about the size of two regular B & B rooms. It included a desk, couch, chair, credenza with TV, closet and fireplace (gas). At the end is a good-sized dressing room with sink, and a large-sized bathroom to the right. The bathroom includes a Jacuzzi a sink, and a very large walk in shower. This room is very large.
The first suite has been converted into the breakfast room. A buffet includes breads, fruit, and other items. Lovely Delores (sp?) cooks a different hot breakfast each day - Belgium waffles one morning and eggs/ham/potato the next.
We had dinner in the attached restaurant one night and at the nearby Mezze the next. Reviews will be posted in the restaurant section of TripAdvisor.
There is a lot to do in and near Williamstown - including MassMOCA and Clark museum.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally good, but decorated differently.

My husband and I recently stayed at this gorgeous property. The room was gorgeous, the breakfasts were delicious, and the staff were terrific. Very conveniently located to VT and NY. Can't wait to go back in the Fall.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the suites, which is very romantic, beautifully decorated and spacious. Staying...

The room was comfortable and romantic, my wife loved reading in front of the fireplace, and the whirlpool tub. Breakfast was candlelit in a different room and the spread was amazing - aside from the bread, rolls, fruit, coffee and juices, we were also treated to a hot homemade meal. The location is perfect - close to several small towns and ideal for skiing. The staff were all extremely helpful and polite and made us feel at home. We will definitely be returning and plan to try out a different room and see what it has to offer.

We had a two night stay this past weekend. What a delightful stay! The innkeepers thought of everything from makeup remover pads, cotton balls, shoe shine cloth, the works!!! Usually, I tote around all those toiletries but not necessary here. The suites were very spacious and super quiet. The fireplace and jacuzzi tub were just exceptional. Everything was in working order and I couldn't be more please or impressed with our stay. The daily candlelight breakfast was delicious and the cook covered all the bases from coffee, tea, juices, breads, fruits...I could just go on and on.

We just got back from staying at 1896 Barnside suites and everything was perfect! We had suite 206 which was beautiful! Pictures on website do not do it justice. Breakfast was wonderful and the inn's attached restaurant was wonderful as well. Every detail was included and some I hadn't seen before which were such nice touches. We will be back soon! Great get a way and perfect area to just relax

Very nice accommodations - private, large room with king bed, dressing room and large bathroom with whirlpool tub. We appreciated the Victorian decor in the room and enjoyed the gas fireplace. The breakfasts each morning were amazing - beautiful presentation and delicious food, never left hungry! We certainly felt well taken care of. I definitely recommend to other couples looking for a romantic weekend.
