Barnside Suite accommodations were beautiful and spacious; we couldn't have been happier with our suite. The staff is pleasant and accommodating, always available to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast that is included witht he suite accommodations was amazing and served in the private breakfast room with impeccable service. The food at '6 House Pub was great, though we would have preferred a beef or chicken dish for the second night.

This place is a winner, and is worth every penny.

We were looking for a quick romantic getaway and found just that at the 1896 House Barnside Luxury Inn. The suite was large and comfortably decorated including a gas fireplace, comfy loveseat, romantic 4 poster canopy bed, dressing room, large bathroom with robes and slippers and a dual jacuzzi tub! To top it all off the delicioous breakfast was graciously cooked and served by a very friendly Dolores. We are already planning a trip back.

We started staying there in 1986 when it was just a roadside motel. We loved opening our windows and listening to the sound of the brook and leaves blowing in the trees. The rooms are immaculate and tastefully decorated. We found ourselves returning every year. They've added on the 1896 Suites --- I love the antiques, spacious inside area, large bathrooms, terrycloth robes and large porch for viewing foliage and wildlife. The pub serves excellent food. A great place to stay be it in the suites or motel rooms. Denise & Sue are wonderful hosts and make their guests feel welcome!

This unusual property has a few themed suites near the motel which are quite luxurious, with antique furniture, spacious rooms and an outside porch. A restaurant adjoins the property for wholesome American food.
Whilst just outside Williamstown and close to the main road, the location is not really a problem

I must admit, after seeing the previous reviewer moan that the 1896 Inn was "a dump," we were more than a little hesitant to make a reservation. After checking the availability via the Internet, I called the property directly to make the reservation and found out that the King-sized room we wanted was already taken. But a Queen-sized room was available. However, when we checked in, the extremely gracious hostess offered to upgrade us to a King room that had since become available. And not just a room but a suite. And it was Fabulous! King canopied bed with wonderful mattress, elegant seating area, hugh bathroom with shower AND large jacuzzi plus your own outside porch area. And everything was pristine. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with this Inn. Wonderful room, friendly service, everyone willing to go out of their way for you. We have stayed at the Orchards and while we like it, the 1896 Inn has a warmth to it that I find lacking at the other Inn. Will definitely return.
