“excellent food”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

I ordered a steak pizza and could not be anymore happy with the quality of the food or the quantity of the toppings. Service was great and plenty of parking.

“Bad Palates or Good Friends?”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

It is difficult to buy into those reviews here that rave about Colonial Pizza's food. I've been a customer for numerous years and have watched it go downhill during that time. The pizza itself is mediocre in taste and toppings are scarce. Try getting a simple chicken Caesar salad with boneless chicken breast and instead you'll get frozen, chopped, reformed, breaded and possibly deep-fried chicken patty.

Speaking of chicken, the chicken wings have shrunk to the size of pigeon wings. Menu prices have increased on almost everything.. The hamburger and sausage for pizzas is identical and contains soy. Is it beef? Is it pork? I can't tell. Only the spongy soy I identifiable. I could go on item by item, but I won't. One last thing, make sure you don't veer from the menu when ordering; one particular person doesn't do custom orders well. .

The family seems to know there are problems but seem to not be motivated to fix it. They even admit to losing customers. In a time when people are more concerned about food quality and have more educated palates, Colonial has chosen to go in the opposite direction and has reduced their quality. Ultimately, it does no good to fix your bottom line by raising prices and reducing product cost by purchasing low quality product. It's self-defeating. People will continue leaving and eventually there will not be enough business to open.

If they decide to make changes for good here they should make sure they advertise this because people will need to know in order to risk it again. In the meantime, I'm joining others and bringing my pizza business to Hot Tomatoes.

“Chuck E. Cheese Style Pie”
Reviewed 12 December 2012

If you are from the NY/NJ area, this is simply not good pizza. It's something more akin to the tasteless, fluffy pie you would be served at Chuck E. Cheese. We ordered two pies, one mushroom and one pepperoni, totaling $20. Both were equally generic and unflavorful, and left me shaking my head in disbelief, wondering if they were frozen pies. The fact that they were served on a cardboard round, the kind that you find in a Tombstone pizza package, didn't lend any authenticity to their product.

Upon entry, the general feeling of the pizzeria was cold and without any personality. But we were hungry and willing to look past the fact that the atmosphere/decor was somehow pitiful, in hopes that they were investing in their product. No such luck, the pizza, as well as the experience, was unbelievably bad all the way around.

“Good pizza”

Surprisingly good pizza and the extra large is really extra large. They are generous with the toppings and the place is run by friendly people.
