I stayed recently t the "Journey's End Lodge" while visiting my son at Williams College and had a wonderfully clean room with beautiful vies from the bedroom and common room and was provided splendid hospitality by the innkeeper complete with a gourmet breakfast and fellowship with fellow Williams parents. I highly recommend the lodge!

We spent a glorious two days at the magnificent Journey’s End Lodge
B & B. The accommodations are outstanding. The lodge itself is a work of woody sumptuousness filled with exquisite furnishings that are both visually and artistically beautiful. Our room was spacious and the Jacuzzi added to our feeling of being thoroughly pampered. The pampering continued with the delicious breakfast and many kindnesses showed us in so many ways from providing directions to local sites, restaurants, and delightful conversation.

Thanks to the help of the kindly B & B proprietors our short two day stay was filled with fun and interesting things to do including going to the top of Mount Greylock and its magnificent vistas. We also went to see the beautiful flower bridge in Shelburne Falls, along with the Falls and the fascinating Glacial Pot Holes. All of this was framed by magnificent Fall foliage.

Dear Carlos,

We stayed with you Saturday evening October 12th. I had all kinds of ideas about what to comment on but when I read all the previously posted reviews they had covered all the wonderful compliments about you and Journey's End Lodge! With just a one night stay you create a wonderful atmosphere for guests. The architecture, furniture, music, views from all the windows, the quiet, the food, and not to mention the other interesting guests were all so memorable. One of the most pleasant meals and interesting conversations we've ever had dining with total strangers! I loved hearing about your experiences with cooking. Off course our room was lovely and comfortable, but one thing that would really be nice to have folded up in the closet ready to grab, are those little portable stands that you can place your suitcases on. We hated to rush off away from the fun breakfast conversation, but it is a good thing we did. We got to the top of Mt. Greylock just in time to get one of the last parking spots. Later it was an hour wait to just get up the mtn.! The weather was spectacular up there as we watch many para-sailers and hand gliders run and jump off the side of the mtn.! It was such a fun and different get-a-way. Thanks again. Sincerely yours, Denise & Han

Dear Denise and Han, we really enjoyed meeting you both, sharing recipes and conversation over coffee and, last but not least, we appreciate your suggestion about portable suitcase stands to be put in the closets in each suite. What a great idea! I have a couple of places in mind where I might be able to locate and buy such stands. Thanks very much for your suggestion and be assured that when you return home to Journey's End, hopefully for a longer stay, you will have a suitcase stand.

We were looking for a relaxing place to stay and this was it. No TV blaring, not kid's running around, just wonderful music and relaxing in comfortable chairs. Although this is right in town, the property is such that you feel like you are on a remote mountain.

Breakfast was excellent and light, and offered at out convenience. All of the guests were friendly.

Carlos was incredibly welcoming and a gracious host. My wife and I are already planning our next visit.

Room Tip: Be sure to inquire as to which rooms have views.

What a gem. We lucked out when we found this wonderful
lodge. Carlos and Allen were the perfect hosts. Beautiful
building, lovely rooms, great views of the mountains. Carlos
made the best breakfasts every morning. We have had 2 hour
dinners before but never 2 hour breakfasts. Sitting around this
lovely table with 3 other very interesting couples the time just
passed so quickly. If we are ever in the area again this is the
place without hesitation.

architectual and interior design gem. beautiful views, delicious breakfasts, personally tailored to your tastes. Carlos, the owner, is a very nice, bright and interesting fellow. very accommodating.

ground floor room has huge bathroom with double sinks and huge tub, as well as tv in room
with internet. huge closet as well. each room has a sitting area outside the door to the room...so you really have a suite.

one of the upstairs bedrooms has an architectural protrusion in your path as you leave your bed for the bathroom, which could pose a danger in the dark. avoid this room if you get up at night or bring a flashlight.

Dear Amaryllisum thank you for your review and your helpful observation regarding the Mount Marcy East suite. The issue you identify, i.e. the "architectural protrusion in your path as you leave your bed for the bathroom", has been resolved. Because of the configuration of that particular suite, we could not center the bed on the window on the North Face and have a night stand on each side. I've moved the night stand on the west side of the bed and moved the bed over so it is now centered on the window and the logs which project into the room no longer constitute a protrusion in the path of anyone coming to, or leaving the bed. The night stand is still conveniently nearby so the occupant of that side of the bed can enjoy it and read by the light its lamp provides. We look forward to hosting you again in our home at Journey's End.

We also stayed this past weekend with the folks from UK. This bed and breakfast is beautiful. The log cabin is something that should be in architectural digest or featured on This old House. If you are into the Green movement this cabin has LEED status for their HVAC system. Carlos is an amazing chef and host. The breakfast was superb. I am a foodie and Carlos and Alan are both that. Had we stayed longer Alan bakes treats for the day. They pay attention to every detail of your stay. The decor of the house, and presentation of the food and the taste all are "on the top of the scale" The view from our bedroom was of the mountains. The house is strategically placed above the street line so your view is above... straight to the mountains. This was close to the hike we took which was very nice too. Taconic Crest Ridge. Williamstown had some nice dinning options too. Like our new UK friends mentioned this place is special because of the hosts. Thank you Carlos and Alan. We will surely be back and we've been telling everyone about your place.

Room Tip: Our room was mt. Marcy which had a beautiful view. The master suite downstairs was very large and p...

Julie - thank you very much for your review. Alan and I both love our log house that is styled after the Adirondack Great Camp Lodge and hope that you will return soon to to Journey's End and enjoy more breakfasts and Alan's pastries.

Best wishes.
