“missed opportunity”
Reviewed 10 July 2013

We brought our 2 grandchildren (ages 7 and 5) on what we hoped would be a wonderful adventure. The staff was friendly in greeting us, the captain was very welcoming and the boat clean and well appointed. It was a small group of 4 families and we were paired with one of the two instructors. Our grandchildren were a bit tenuous at first since this was a new experience. What started out as a teaching opportunity quickly deteriorated into an interaction between the instructor and the other adult in the group. There was little attempt to engage the children and the entire experience turned into a conversation between the 2 adults, to the exclusion of the other parent's children as well. The instructor we did not have seemed very engaged and animated from what we could see. We left feeling that we had spent a lot of money for something that was much less than what we had hoped for and we believe could have been.

Hello. I was concerned with your review and wanted to let you know that I have shared the review with the teaching staff and we have had a discussion about what happened . We pride ourselves on being interactive and engaging, an "ecotational" experience for the whole group. While I am not sure which of our naturalists was with your group we will take your feedback and strive to make the experience better for everyone. I would love for you to come back and try us again. Please contact me directly and let's see if OceanQuest can turn your experience more positive. Thank You.

“Great Experience and Staff”
Reviewed 1 July 2013 via mobile

Science experiments, Sea education and hands on fun for children and adults too all aboard a large comfortable science boat. My toddler son touched baby skates and egg poaches and live fish -black bass, stripe bass and the tail of a toad fish captured in an amazing science lobster trap. He also touched lobsters, live horse shoe crabs and their molted shells, sea urchins, star fish and probably more all aboard this ship that cruises around the Elizabeth Islands of Naushon off Woods Hole. This is second time aboard the ship and our boy just loves it.

Sunni, Lindsay and of course the Captain were great. They all made a special memory for our son. Thank you.

“Great way to spend a morning!”
Reviewed 30 June 2013

We visited in late June and took the Discovery Cruise with a 7yr old, 5 yr old, 4 yr old and 1yr old. All four kids enjoyed the Discovery Cruise. Our naturalist was informative and fun! We all learned so much! The kids are still talking about it!

“Maiden sunset cruise 2013”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

Every year we like to catch the summer solstice sunset at the beach and when we saw there was a sunset cruise, we signed up and were so glad we did.

Our voyage started off with the rescue of a young man who went overboard when the runabout he was operating nearby hit a wake and nearly flipped sending him flying into the water. The Oceanquest crew immediately went into emergency response mode and quickly got to and helped him out of the water and returned him to the dock while Seatow recovered his skiff. Thankfully he was okay. And after seeing the crew in action, we knew we were in good hands!

We enjoyed learning the history of the area and seeing the Elizabeth Islands. An added bonus was Jeff, our host, who is also a chef, prepared excellent appetizers to go with the wine that was served, all included in the price of the ticket. I'm talking homemade hummus, fresh mozzarella with tomato, basil and a balsamic reduction, spring rolls, and Asian chicken lettuce wraps and plenty of it.

And watching the sunset overlooking Buzzards Bay was the best. That and the nearly full moon. This is something we would definitely do again. Thank you Jeff, Alyssa and Ralph! Your knowledge and enthusiasm made for a great time!

“Awesome!”
Reviewed 4 September 2012 via mobile

We went on this adventure with 4 kids and 1 infant. Our guide was Alissa. The trip was so engaging and fun for all of us. The kids had a blast touching and learning about sea life. The trip itself was gorgeous. The team was amazing. And our guide was super. Our kids range from 4 to 10. Highly recommend it. Thanks, Alissa and the awesome captain too.
