“Pleasant ride from Woods Hole to Martha's Vineyard”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

I stayed at the Woods Hole Inn, which is a conveniently short walk to The Steamship Authority ferry terminal. You can select a ferry to either Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. The wait was relatively brief, as long as you follow the schedule, which they kept to fairly well. Boarding time was not too bad, depending on how long it took the arriving passengers to de-board. Seating both inside and out. Sitting outside was very pleasant, but perhaps not so much if it's very sunny and hot. Great views of both Woods Hole and MV harbors. Price was reasonable; $8 per person one-way. Boat was very clean. Just be mindful of the schedule if you're only on a day trip to MV and returning late in the evening, as the last ferry is around 9-10 pm.

“Island bound”
Reviewed 23 June 2013 via mobile

The Steamship Authority is an inexpensive day trip to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. Round trip to MV is 14 dollars and the views are bucolic. There is also seating inside and outside with a/c. Small meals and tv screens with wi-gi. Ferry drop off is in Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs. Comfortable ride.
